NASCAR Hall of Famer and seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has announced his entire schedule for the 2024 Cup Series campaign. As a part of the announcement of the race, the 48-year-old will be piloting his No. 84 Toyota Camry XSE during the opener at the Daytona 500 on February 18, along with the marquee events at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the finale race at Phoneix.

In addition to these races, Jimmie Johnson will also race at Texas Motor Speedway (April 14), Dover Motor Speedway (April 28), Kansas Speedway (May 5, Sept. 29), Charlotte Motor Speedway (May 26), and Las Vegas Motor Speedway (Oct 20). The schedule for these nine planned races would be the most for Johnson since his last full-time season in NASCAR back in 2020. Moreover, a 24 Hours of Le Mans can also be on the cards for the veteran racer.

The co-owner of the Legacy Motor Club will be continuing with his long-standing sponsor, Carvana, for a total of three races this season. Caravan is an online retailer of used cars and has been partnering with Johnson since the Indy Car series in 2021. This extension means that the No. 84 Toyota will have a Carvana livery at the Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and the season’s finale at Phoneix Raceway.

I’m so proud to represent Carvana for a second NASCAR season, and our fourth season overall as partners, at some of my favorite races,” said Johnson. “Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with LEGACY M.C. I’m excited to have a shot at another Daytona 500 trophy in our new Toyota Camry XSE’s and the paint scheme is sure to be a fan favorite.”

Gearing up for this second NASCAR season partnership with Jimmie Johnson, the company is eager to see what the veteran driver will be able to achieve this year. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Jimmie and LEGACY M.C. for a second season,” said Ryan Keeton, Carvana Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer. “Jimmie is not only the true embodiment of a champion, as recognized by his Hall of Fame induction this year, he is also a leader on and off the track and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes this season.”

The Great American Race at the Daytona International Speedway is the one that all NASCAR racers are keen to win. Not only are the drivers remembered for a long time after winning at the iconic venue, but a win on this track also holds special sentimental value amongst the NASCAR community. While Jimmie Johnson already has two Daytona 500 wins under his belt, he sure is eyeing a third one going into the 2024 season.

Hanging up his boots from full-time NASCAR racing in 2020, over the years the 49-year-old has competed in 21 Daytona 500 events. He did make a comeback to Daytona after 2 years of absence, pursuing his goals in the IndyCar series. However, he did make a comeback last season but could only manage a P35 finish. Jimmie Johnson will look to better on last year’s disappointment by donning a special livery by Carvana that will honor his legacy across NASCAR and IndyCar careers.
