Last night, Kurt Busch edged out Jimmie Johnson by 0.009 seconds to take the pole at Coca-Cola 600. It was the first race to include a qualifying after the lockdown. Despite losing the pole by such a small margin Jimmie Johnson still managed to add a pinch of humor into the mix.
After the race, he posted a cheeky tweet saying that he won’t be sending any Christmas presents to Kurt anymore.

Jimmie Johnson scored a lap time of 29.799 and a top speed of 181.214 mph to score a provisional pole. However, Kurt broke his lap time by .009 seconds to take the pole at Charlotte, North Carolina. Kurt scored a time of 29.790 seconds in his number 1 Chevy for Chip Ganassi Racing.
Notably, Chevrolets were the fastest cars today and chevy drivers took seven out of the top ten positions at the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600.

Bad luck continuous for Jimmie Johnson and Chase Elliott
Jimmie Johnson finished as the runner-up but failed the post-race inspection and was disqualified. Brad Keselowski extended the losing streak of Johnson to 102 races.

Cup Series executive Jay Fabian said that the No. 48 vehicle’s rear alignment failed in the assessment after Sunday’s race. Johnson and the group were given the last-place in the grid. Johnson additionally forfeited the 11 stage points he had earned in Sunday’s race.

Chase Elliott, who had a huge lead until a caution with two laps to go, crossed the line third. Elliott, with it, lost yet another potential NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. For the second NASCAR Cup Series race in continuation, Hendrick Motorsports’ Elliott was in a situation to win in the end laps.

Following a pit lane speeding penalty and a call not to pit in the last laps dropped him down the order. Last week, an incident with Kyle Busch ended his good run and he missed the chance at winning the race.
