7x Cup Series champion delivers his gratitude through a warm message
There is no denying the fact, that Noah Gragson was a suitable candidate for the team, given his impeccable results in the Xfinity series. However, the occurrence of certain instances and his inability to find momentum amongst the veterans acted as the Achilles Heel for the driver. While Gragson sought to terminate his contract with LMC, Johnson was left in a pickle.
However, call it luck or divine intervention, the team seemed to find hope in their newly temporary recruit and Truck Series prodigy Carson Hocevar. Despite having limited experience in the Cup Series, it was not long before Hocevar found his firm footing, driving the No.42 in the playoffs. The driver in his three playoff appearances notched his consecutive top 20 positions, the highest being P11 after the race at Bristol.
Moreover, the driver was able to achieve this spectacular result with a loose wheel in his car, an issue that could have easily made things go south. However, the rookie was able to overcome those obstacles and deliver a favorable result.
Witnessing the performance delivered by Hocevar, the co-owner of Legacy M.C. Jimmie Johnson, in a Twitter post wrote, “I’m so happy it’s going well with Carson. I’m really impressed with how he drives the car to the limit and stays within his own means. That’s a skill usually developed over time and often through making mistakes. As we all know he is a young guy, just starting off on his Cup journey.”
The post also added the words, “Talent knows talent”
