Jimmie Johnson Makes Impassioned Plea for Multi-Million Dollar Noble Cause, Weeks After Groundbreaking NASCAR Career Update

There are several drivers in NASCAR, both retired and active who have created foundations to help people in need. One such foundation belongs to the former Hendrick Motorsport star and seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, Jimmie Johnson. He recently took to social media to send out a plea for his supporters to band together and donate to a noble cause.

In a video posted over Instagram, Johnson said, “Hi, everyone, Jimmie Johnson here. Given Tuesday is right around the corner, love for you to consider the Jimmie Johnson foundation if you’re gonna make a donation. We do a lot with public schools and would love your support. So please head to jimmiejohnsonfoundation.org for those details.” The video ended with a quote and a “giving Tuesday” hashtag.

The foundation also mentioned how they were able to award upwards of $6.3 million to more than 149 schools across the country. Putting the number as high as 140,000 students who have been helped by their grant programme. They further urged people to help them out to take care of more and more students as they continue their noble work.

What does the Jimmie Johnson foundation do?

The foundation has been around since 2006 and its main goal is focused on supporting K 12 public education. The foundation further stated its research and the cause they work towards over a thread on Twitter.

The organization tweeted, “It only takes 1 book to change a child’s life forever. @MuskogeeSchools librarians received $54,455.47 to provide children of all ages with books to build their home libraries through book giveaways. Many of the district’s students live in poverty with limited access to books.”

They further stated, “Research has shown that having access to books at home has a significant impact on children and their academic success.  The giveaways put nearly 5,000 books in the hands and homes of 2,200 students, helping to increase academic achievement and self-esteem.“

Concluding with, “Donate to the Jimmie Johnson Foundation to ensure K-12 public schools and students have access to the materials and supplies they need for success!  “

Just like Johnson, several other drivers also run their own foundations, each focusing on a different cause. This comes around as a way for these fan-favorite drivers to give back to the community. At the end of the day, everyone wants to make sure that they can take care of the society they live in. So that future generations do not struggle through what the last generation went through.
