Each one of us has a unique tradition that we follow for Thanksgiving, and over the years, it just ends up being the norm. The same stands for our favorite drivers, like Johnson as well. The motorsport champions trio Jimmie Johnson, Dario Franchitii, and Scott Dixon are an iconic friendship that is worth reminiscing about.

In an Instagram post by Scott Dixon’s wife, Emma Davies opened up about the cozy yet amazing Thanksgiving gala. The three friends, along with their wives and children, met together for a scrumptious dinner at the much coveted five-star restaurant – Gleneagles. Situated right at the beautiful serenity of Scotland, the Gleneagles is a beautiful place that stands true to the essence of the Thanksgiving holiday. The post was all things love, and the caption read, “Another Franchitti/ Johnson/Dixon ‘Thanksgiving in the books!!’ I hope that everyone that celebrated had a beautiful day with loved ones. ❤️🇺🇸”. One could see the happy children, beautiful wives, and handsome drivers looking their absolute best and gorging on a delicious meal.

Johnson, Franchitti, and Dixon are three of the most splendid drivers that the history of motorsport racing has ever witnessed and their friendship trio has stood the test of time. Despite winning their titles in almost the same era, it seems as though negativity and jealousy have not permeated through the seals yet. The No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports driver secured NASCAR Cup Series championships in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2013, and 2016. Scott Dixon, with six IndyCar titles (2003, 2008, 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020), ranks second to A.J. Foyt’s record seven championships. Dario Franchitti claimed four IndyCar championships (2007, 2009, 2010, 2011) and won the Indy 500 in 2007, 2010, and 2012, with his first victory shortened by rain after a crash involving teammate Marco Andretti.

Have an interesting take?

One might wonder how the friendship between the three bloomed when Jimmie Johnson had a separate racing career. Well, after the Hendrick Motorsport champion made it to his retirement in 2020, he tried his hands at the IndyCar series inducing a partnership with CGR for two years. This is when he came in close contact with Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitii and the friendship became iconic. Since then it has been a tradition for the three to meet on Thanksgiving and spend some special moments together. As their Thanksgiving tradition continues to thrive, it reminds us all the importance of celebrating success, friendship, and family, no matter where life’s journey takes us.
