Talking to Steve Post who is a Pit Reporter for the Motor Racing Network, Todd Gordon shared his concerns about the precarious position of Keselowski and Buescher in the playoff bubble. With several competitive teams vying for the remaining playoff spots, the stakes are rising after the Atlanta Race. They also hinted that the RFK Racing team is in for a major showdown.

Regarding the playoff, Todd Gordon stated, “I don’t know that Chris Buescher and Brad Keselowski feel comfortable right now.”

Hearing this, Steve Post added, “To me, when you look at it, because there’s so many good cars outside. That would jump, that would move the bubble. And throw Daniel Suárez and Michael McDowell in there as possible race winners, I think that they could win also. But throw them in there. I would be if I’m Brad and Christopher … I’m not resting totally comfortable on.”

“If they win, I feel all right about it because it will. We’ll see where it goes,” Gordon stated in a calm tone.

As per the cup series ranking, Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher stand 12th and 11th, respectively, barely inside the top 16. However, the situation remains uncertain given the high level of competition and the impending races at tracks like Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, Watkins Glen, and the final regular season race at Daytona.

Post stated how the strategy played by Suarez’s crew chief Travis Mack and McDowell’s crew chief Travis Peterson helped them secure the position in the top five. Although the race ended early it highlighted McDowell’s consistent improvement over the past few races, with the finish of 4th position in the event. While Daniel Suarez successfully captured the 2nd position.

Gordon said, “They are both on the bubble because they’re tied in points. But they’re only, what, three points ahead of 17th? So yeah. Yeah, and really still look at it. I don’t feel like either one of them can feel like they control their destiny because we’ve got enough opportunities for people outside of the top 20 with Indy Road course coming up with Watkins Glen coming up with Daytona as the final regular season race.”
