The Daytona Road Course NASCAR race has concluded with Chase Elliott emerging as the victor. Meanwhile, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex Jr completed the Top-3, with Jimmie Johnson back in 4th place. The NASCAR veteran and multiple-Cup Series champion was utterly ecstatic, and it felt like a win for him.
Speaking to NBC Sports, he said, “Good job to everyone on my No. 48 Ally Chevy team. I just lacked that rear grip at the end there.
“That was a really fun and a solid day, that’s what we needed and now we go to my favorite track – Dover. So proud of Chase, what a road racer he is.”

What else did Jimmie Johnson say?
At this race, Jimmie Johnson and Hendrick Motorsports launched a brand new livery. Johnson opened up about his new paint job on Twitter.
He said, “The new paint scheme looked good up front today. I lacked the rear grip I needed to fight for the win. Next up, my favorite track for a double header.”
There are merely a handful of races before the playoffs and Johnson is desperate to sneak into it before he retires. This season is expected to be Johnson’s final one in NASCAR before he steps away to explore other ventures.

The Hendrick Motorsports team revamped the No. 48 Ally Chevrolet’s paint scheme, dubbing it as their ‘rAlly’ scheme. So, instead of a black-based livery, Johnson raced with a white-based paint scheme.
The Ally Financial’s purple and fuchsia colors complemented the white car when it rolled out of the garage.
As it turned out, Johnson was not a fan of the dark theme and wanted to signify a fresh start. It is also worth noting that the Hendrick Motorsports team signed a new sponsor earlier, called Acronis.
