.The seven-time Cup Series champion Jimmie Johnson has announced his return to the track in style. The Legacy Motor Club owner had confirmed his 2024 participation in select races last year. However, there were no official hints or announcements about the same. As per surfacing reports, the Hendrick Motorsports legend is set to race in some of the most anticipated races this year. This includes the Championship race at the Phoenix Raceway. With sponsors like Carvana, Dollar Tree, and Family Dollar lined up to feature in multiple cars this year, an exciting project is on the cards.

Jimmie Johnson will race at the Great American Race

According to a revelation by eminent journalist Bob Pockrass, Jimmie Johnson will drive in three of the season’s biggest races. The 2024 Daytona 500, Brickyard 400, and the season finale at Phoenix will be graced by Johnson. He will be circling the race tracks in his #84 Toyota Camry XSE.

The announcement doesn’t come as a surprise since many fans had expected one-off appearances from the legend. However, his participation in races at Daytona, Indianapolis, and Phoenix will be a massive crowd attraction. This befits the stature of a seven-time NASCAR champion. Carvana will feature as the primary sponsor for these three races.

The past few weeks have been hectic for Jimmie Johnson. Various sponsorship agreements are being finalized and a 2024 NASCAR Hall of Fame induction awaiting. Used cars reselling tycoon Carvana announced a return as the official sponsor for Legacy Motor Club. Johnson has been a signed representative of Carvana since the 2021 season. The first instance of the partnership was visible at the one-off 2021 IndyCar appearance for the #84 driver.

 

Carvana co-founder Ryan Keeton expressed his happiness at the deal by aligning his company’s values with Jimmie Johnson’s. He stated, “We couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Jimmie and LEGACY M.C. for a second season. Jimmie is not only the true embodiment of a champion, as recognized by his Hall of Fame induction this year, he is also a leader on and off the track and we can’t wait to see what he accomplishes this season.”

After a switch of manufacturers to Toyota, LMC has been on a solid run of agreeing deals with sponsors. It has included some high-profile names like Family Dollar and Advent Health. These backings have certainly delighted the seven-time champion.

Having sponsored multiple cars for Legacy Motor Club since the team’s debut season, the two parties have gotten closer with time. The dynamic played a role in the renewal of the agreement as well. While the paint scheme has yet to be revealed, Carvana aims to create the sponsored cars with a theme to honor Jimmie Johnson’s legacy in American racing.

With the achievements Jimmie has showcased in his glittering career, Carvana has umpteen ideas to choose from. The renewed partnership means a paint scheme reveal must come with the Daytona 500 closer than ever.

“I’m so proud to represent Carvana for a second NASCAR season, and our fourth season overall as partners, at some of my favorite races,” claimed the LMC team owner. “Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing, and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with LEGACY M.C. I’m excited to have a shot at another Daytona 500 trophy in our new Toyota Camry XSE’s and the paint scheme is sure to be a fan favorite.”
