We got a glimpse of Kyle Larson’s lavish lifestyle when he took his daughter Audrey to Paris to celebrate her birthday along with his wife Katelyn in May. With over a decade in NASCAR, the Bristol playoff race winner has reportedly accumulated a wealth of $12 million, while expanding his own brand beyond the racetrack. As such his net worth can be expected to grow in the coming years and Hendrick legend Jeff Gordon has an idea for what Larson’s future looks like.
With five Cup Series wins this season, Larson is at the top of his game and looks primed for championship success. Despite hitting his stride, this season the 32-year-old has noted that he has plans to retire early from NASCAR. While we may be some time away from witnessing that, it didn’t stop Gordon from picking Larson as the driver most likely to adopt the ‘van lifestyle’. His prediction may just come true considering Kyle Larson’s big purchase from the past!

At Bristol, Larson not only found victory lane but also surpassed Jeff Gordon. Having led a race-high 462 laps out of 500, Larson set a new Hendrick Motorsports record by leading the most laps in a single race since Gordon led 431 laps at Martinsville in 1997. Eyeing a second championship title, Larson is going strong this season.
But of course, there will be a time when he calls it quits. There’s only so long he can focus on the hectic schedule of a race car driver, training and traveling to every race year after year. Jeff Gordon has an indication of what he sees Larson doing after he gets out of the NASCAR gig.
Answering questions for Hendrick Motorsport, Jeff Gordon was asked who is the next likely to adopt the #vanlifestyle. Gordon answered, “I’m gonna go with my California kid here, (Kyle) Larson. I don’t even know why.” While Gordon does not have a reason for his choice, Larson taking up the van life may be something we see in the future, all thanks to an investment ‘Yung Money’ made a few years ago.

Have an interesting take?
No, we are not talking about his $5.6 million mansion in Arizona that he bought in 2022, a year after he won his first Cup Series Championship. In the same year as his mansion purchase, Kyle Larson and his wife Katelyn bought a $2 million motorhome, the Newell Coach. The Newell Coach is a luxury home that can accommodate a complete family. It can turn into the perfect little place to take his wife, Katelyn, and their three children on a road trip in and around Arizona.
The interior of the motorhome is furnished with modern aesthetics and has the company’s first bath-and-a-half layouts with a bunk that makes it ideal for long trips on the road. So could we see the driver take up the van lifestyle sometime down the road? After all, Larson admitted to loving life in Arizona and named it as the place where he could settle after retirement.
Back in January, he opened up about his future plans while talking to Kenny Wallace on the Kenny Conversation. He said, “I’m 31 right now, I’m going into my 11th season in the Cup Series, I’ve already been in it for a while. So, in my eyes if I can race another seven or eight years, I can earn a lot of money, I can set myself up really well.” So Larson has his priorities in order and would be interested in spending more time with his family.
He is also not the first popular NASCAR name to make a motorhome purchase. Back in 2018, Kyle Busch purchased a custom-built Prevost Coach motorhome, handcrafted by Liberty Coach Inc. He often uses it to travel with his family while he is around the NASCAR circuit.
For Larson, a van lifestyle could give him valuable time to spend with his kids, something he isn’t able to do as much with the NASCAR season in full swing. After all, being able to spend time with his family away from the chaos of the city is something he enjoys particularly. He says, “Life is good everywhere, but you just have access to a lot more. Great restaurants, shopping, golf, hiking, all of that stuff. In North Carolina, if you want to go hiking, you drive like 45 minutes somewhere. There’s nice restaurants everywhere, but there’s less. I just have way more time in Arizona.”
Still, there might be time before we see the Hendrick Motorsports driver fully adopt the home on wheels, as he has plans of racing after NASCAR.

Kyle Larson is just 31 and at the peak of his career. So imagining him retiring is something most NASCAR fans don’t want to do. However, after 11 years of racing, it is certainly a thought that has crossed most fans’ minds. For Kyle Larson, the plan is clear. He intends to retire earlier than most NASCAR racers do, somewhere around the age of 40. Calling it quits from NASCAR doesn’t mean he will exit racing permanently.

On the Kenny Conversation, he mentioned,
“I don’t, like sitting here right now, I don’t see myself going to 40. But that’s not me retiring from racing. That’s, I think I’m different than others.” He added, “I can go still be in my prime, hopefully, and go compete for a premier dirt series championship.”ADVERTISEMENT

He remains a driver who can extend the peak of his career by several years.
At the moment, if Kyle Larson wishes to embrace the van lifestyle, it will have to be during the off-season, perhaps as a vacation of sorts with his family. The commitment to racing full-time in NASCAR is a job that takes true dedication. Traveling in the Newell Coach will certainly be a change of pace for Larson, but it will be a challenge he could relish.
