According to Jeff Gluck, he witnessed the entire event in front of him. Glock also wrote that Dale Jr. went on to click pictures with 30 other people in the room.

It’s funny that Dale Earnhardt Jr. brought up Jeff Gordon’s name while talking to his fans. Gordon shared a great rivalry with Dale Earnhardt in the 90s. We saw them competitively race each other and even contest for championships. The two had a fierce rivalry on the track, but they were good friends off the track.
While remembering Dale Earnhardt after his death, Jeff Gordon said, “I didn’t realize how important rivals were. I wish I had the confidence that he had to play into it, to build it up even more. You could easily say that’s what launched my career.”

Gordon even got to compete against his rival’s son, Dale Earnhardt Jr. In 2016, when Dale Jr. was suffering from a concussion, Gordon came out of retirement and replaced Junior for the races at Indianapolis and Pocono.
