Trackhouse Racing’s rise to prominence in NASCAR has been quick. Steadily growing into a race-winning team, the Justin Marks-owned organization has become one of the mainstays in the Cup Series. However, one factor sets them apart from other teams and even newly-formed crowd pullers like Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan‘s 23XI Racing, and it has piqued the interest of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Trackhouse Racing is a perfect example of a team’s growth through its vision. Joining hands with a global superstar worth $100 million like Pitbull has already expanded the possibilities of their collaboration by leaps and bounds. Be it music, cultural activities, or racing in NASCAR, Trackhouse has volunteered to create an identity irrespective of profession.

The NASCAR community has witnessed the entry of multiple entrepreneurs into the sport from various fields of life. While notable personalities from other sports, like Jordan and Floyd Mayweather Jr., have ventured into the sport, Trackhouse Racing brought in a never-seen-before co-owner in Pitbull. The music mogul has even named his latest album, ‘Trackhouse,’ as an ode to his team.

To Dale Earnhardt Jr., what Justin Marks and co have done in recent years is very interesting. As Jeff Gordon conveyed at the Racers Forum, the team has found the solution to cut the distance between the fans and the team. Speaking on his podcast, The Dale Jr Download, he said, “It’s just not necessarily gonna be easy to turn and go in that direction, right?”

“I believe some of the ideas that might help Jeff achieve that are already happening at Trackhouse. Trackhouse, to me, is like its own thing. It has done that in a year or two years. It has done it in a blink of an eye. It’s created an identity, a brand that is something that usually takes decades.”

What Gordon has hinted at could also be termed a cultural reset for the sport. A community that has worshipped its drivers for so long will have a hard time letting go of the gravity superstars possess in NASCAR. Drivers have always been the key to unlocking a fan’s emotions, and that would be the case for some more time. However, Trackhouse Racing is here to change it through its modus operandi.

Pitbull has been in the game for a long time. Having delivered chartbusters one after another, his name has spread throughout the globe as he continues to charm the masses in his own way. But what made him join a completely unrelated sport, which is NASCAR? Was it a business opportunity or something more profound than that? Let us hear it from the man himself.

Speaking to the Miami Herald, the superstar opened up about the moment of realization. He claimed that the fascination of a bunch of kids got him into the sport. Pitbull explained,

“Together with Trackhouse and being a part of the whole NASCAR family, it was something that I had been manifesting for a long time. The minute that I saw that car parked in front of SLAM, which is one of our schools in Little Havana when I saw the disconnect between the kids and the car — I mean, they were so excited to see it, it’s like they saw a spaceship; that’s what I mean by the disconnect, meaning they didn’t they didn’t even know that that world really existed — I automatically saw an opportunity,”

Speaking on how the team came to recognize a perfect blend between culture and racing, he says that a significant reason for their success is the alignment of their goals. Justin Marks’ vision of his team synced perfectly with Pitbull’s, which pushed him for the investment.

“There’s so many opportunities within the world of NASCAR. That’s basically how this came about because our visions aligned and our goals were the same. It wasn’t just about generating and winning. It was about utilizing the music, that platform, and utilizing the platform of racing, and bringing a culture of community and everybody together and just showing everybody that we’re here to unite and not divide two of the platforms that we have.”

Pitbull’s thoughts have genuinely resonated with the fanbase and are one of the reasons the success has spread to his drivers as well. Although Ross Chastain is no longer a contender in the playoffs, his run in the past two years has been fantastic. Daniel Suarez has also been a great addition and has opened up a world of opportunities for Mexico with his arrival. With experimentation and creativity at its core, the team will continue to reach new heights, that’s for sure.
