There are still days left before the 2024 Cup Series officially lifts the curtains and the green flags are waved in the air. However, the NASCAR fandom was not deprived of snatching a preview of the season. While the news of sponsors and the unveiling of the new car liveries would assuredly quench the thirst, the icing on the cake for them is nothing but the newly released teaser of the Netflix docuseries.
The docuseries NASCAR: Full Speed showcases the lives of the 16 playoff drivers throughout ten races and is set to be released at the end of January, and is set to be a feast for NASCAR fans. However, since the dropping of the teaser, the fans have gone gaga and swooning over the clip that displays the life of their favorite driver both on and off-track. Moreover, rallying on the fan’s sentiments is the executive producer of the series, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Asserting the fact, that the series is set to be one-of-a-kind, the owner of JR Motorsports revealed his stance on the much-awaited show.

Since the news of the making of the docuseries was revealed, the NASCAR community has waited with bated breaths about what the final product would resemble. The series which is set to be divided into five episodes, lasting for 45 minutes each, finally released the teaser providing a glimpse of the inner corners of the driver’s lives. Moreover, in the complete production of the docuseries, one man who has been directly involved and is also the executive producer is Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Having been an indispensable part of the team and furnishing his wisdom in the development of the series, it is apparent that Junior is elated with the outcome. This was apparent during his appearance on a live show of his podcast Dirty Mo Live. speaking on the soon-to-be-released series Junior revealed, “The Netflix series is coming out on the 30th and I have watched it and it’s better than anything that I have ever seen.
“So if you think all of the pieces that would be comparable to what Netflix did, what was on USA, a couple of years ago any of the stuff that was part of my career that was sort of off track- on track documentary style, I am telling you man this is so good… All the drivers that are featured are featured really well and we had an incredible end of the year with Blaney, and that’s a great story, so the documentary leans into that.”

Speaking on getting a closer glimpse of the lives of the drivers, Dale Jr also stated, “But the access, how you are literally in these people’s homes when they are getting out of bed and the first things they are doing in the morning you are really getting to see, I have known Denny forever and been around him at his house. But this was better, this was cool. We all hear things about people and it makes us want to know what it’s really like, what the relationships they have are and so you get to see these people and they can’t hide from the truth in these moments.”
There is even more NASCAR royalty who have already jumped on the bandwagon to back the documentary series.

The authorities along with other insiders also seem to sing on the same tune as Dale Earnhardt Jr. The majority of the paddock areas believe that the series would catapult the sport into a newer direction and regain its old and lost glory.
The sport which has struggled with viewership and witnessed a steep decline in ratings in recent times, is hopeful that the series would help in changing the tidings of the sport. One such person is Kenny Wallace. On his podcast Coffee with Kenny, he asserted that the docuseries would grow with leaps and bounds.
He believed the fact that the Netflix series would help in humanizing the drivers and provide the much-needed recognition, that was due for the longest period. This in turn would attract sponsors to the track adding to the value of the sport.
