“It’s a Weird Deal” – Bubba Wallace’s Spotter Astonished by NASCAR Aiding Driver After Blatant Cheating

The NASCAR drama unfolded at the Milwaukee Mile, leaving fans gasping for answers. In a recent discussion on the popular podcast “Door Bumper Clear,” Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, found himself astonished by NASCAR’s handling of a blatant cheating incident involving Majeski’s Craftsman Truck Series team. The crew delved into the fine line between innovation and rule-breaking, sparking a debate on whether NASCAR should legalize tire bleeding. 

Milwaukee’s Shocking Turn of Events

The Milwaukee Mile wasn’t just another race for Ty Majeski and the #98 Thorsport team; it was a rollercoaster of emotions. NASCAR officials swooped in, confiscating the right rear wheel of their Ford F-150 and sending Crew Chief Joe Shear packing. The team was thrust to the back of the field, and on the first lap, they had to serve a pass-through penalty. But that was just the beginning.

During the podcast, the Bubba Wallace 23XI team crew member stated, “So the problem, here’s the issue that you have, and they didn’t get caught at IRP where they want. They got caught the following week at Milwaukee. So, you know, there’s always that deniability, oh, I just put this on there, you know? So that’s why they didn’t, I mean, but you know, that’s like Phoenix, like if they found it after Phoenix, you would just get disqualified.” 

Kraft further added, “But like, if you did it at Vegas, and we go to wherever the hell we race after Vegas, and you’ve got something illegal, well, you were probably running it at Vegas, but now you’re only gonna do, you know, we’re gonna give you a five-point. You just wander away into the final four.”

As the dust settled on the Milwaukee Mile, NASCAR didn’t hold back in delivering the blow. On Tuesday, they dropped the hammer, announcing a hefty L2 penalty. Ty Majeski lost 75 precious driver points, along with 5 playoff points. The #98 team shared the pain, losing 75 owner points and 5 playoff points. Joe Shear felt the sting of a $25,000 fine.

Amidst the chaos, a silver lining emerged for Ty Majeski. And Bubba Wallace’s spotter had more to add to this.

Majeski’s victory at Indianapolis Raceway Park had already locked him into the next playoff round. The points penalty might have pushed him back to tenth place, but the win propelled him into the round of eight. 

“I’m just saying, like everybody’s cheating, everybody’s cheating. And Vegas, when we get the Phoenix, everybody’s cheating, just for the record. But, you know, just this, like, to your point, like there’s no penalty.” Kraft stated. 

Freddie Kraft further added, “He had already won the race. He kept the win, so that locked him into the next round. He lost the points that he got from the win, the five bonus points, but is that really enough? You’ve already transferred through. Yeah, so it’s a weird deal.”
