Dale Earnhardt Jr. has always been in the headlines for his storied racing career. A name celebrated among many, however, didn’t run out of attention, as he’s smartly channeling all his NASCAR wisdom through his podcast. The driver-turned-podcaster shares his views, suggestions, and the facts around the industry in the modern daylight, and fans often find themselves hypnotized by his rhetoric. The man carries a flurry of superstitions on his nerves since his childhood. Be it avoiding carrying peanuts near his car, or a $50 bill, The Imitator sets a trend that doesn’t quite go with his rowdy driving forte. But the root reaches deeper. Spiritualistic? Yes, but he believes in the dark spirits rather than the holy ones. Albeit it stemmed from his real-life event.

An eerie paranormal experience inside the Dale Earnhardt Inc. property forced the 50-year-old to believe in ghosts, for real! The encounters with mysterious forces might sound like a typical horror movie plot from the 1980s. But it can send chills down your spine. “I had built that club downstairs. It was black and purple. I had a big-screen television. Sometimes I’d go down there and turn on a movie or something and sit down there on the couch. I went down there,” Earnhardt Jr’s voice trembled as he time-traveled to the time, “and sat down, and was just the light of the television was all that was kind of you know, it was really dark otherwise. I look over my right shoulder. There are mirrors and staff. I swear that I saw a girl, probably a late teen or early 20s, in a white dress.”

The NASCAR mix had an extensive layer of horrors stored in his veins. The lone racetracks, terrifying competition, ignited clashes, and everything that the sports embody can’t justify the sporadic, spooky history the sports have seen. It’s just as thrilling as a top rivalry race. Talladega Superspeedway, back in 1974, housed a flurry of vandalized cars with sugar and slashed tires. Nothing has yet been revealed about the terrifying act. Things became a little more serious when Bobby Allison’s vehicle strayed off the track towards the grandstands, without any apparent cause. What Earnhardt has experienced might just be an extension of an age-old curse of the game.

“It wasn’t a light-colored hair, it was a dark-colored hair. She was sort of transparent to about a degree of 30 percent, like she was almost solid. Couldn’t see through her, but then it was just kind of faint, I mean, it was as real as day, I freaked out.” Dale Jr. kept diving deeper into the look analysis of a claimed ghost in his podcast. Believe it or not, but the intensity of the situation seemed enough to throw anyone into a blue funk.

You may play it by the book when on the track, but not when meeting a real-life ghost. “I was scared to move. And I don’t have any. I had nothing else to do. Ever since then, or before that event was connected to that house, I don’t know what that was about,” the Xfinity Series Champion noted in his aftermath. Nonetheless, he dared to stare for three seconds at the shadow figure before it disappeared. “It wasn’t like something out of the corner of my eye? No, I looked directly at it,” the former driver added.

However, this is not a lone instance of the horror incident Dale Jr. experienced in his life. And this next one was race-related.

Noting that it was a “little dark and morbid and heavy,” Earnhardt Jr. recounted, “When I wrecked in the Corvette in 2004 in Sonoma and it caught fire, somebody pulled me out of that car. And I thought that it was a corner worker because I felt somebody put their hands under my armpits and pull me out of the car,” continued Earnhardt Jr “I didn’t get out. I don’t have any memory of myself climbing out of the car.”

For those unversed, during a practice session for an American Le Mans Series race at the Sonoma Raceway in California in 2004, Earnhardt Jr.’s car exploded into flame after a crash. He was left senseless inside the vehicle. “And I remember sort of moving like in motion. Like going to lean forward and try to climb out of the car. And then something grabbed me under the armpits, pulled me up over the door bars, and then let go of me. And I fell to the ground. There are pictures of me lying on the ground next to the car.”
