With the dawn of the new generation of stock cars in the arena of NASCAR, speed is not the sole determinant of the outcome of a race. Each race of NASCAR is a work of luck, strategy, and speed mixed together. You take any of these out of the grid and you fall face-first with a thud. This is exactly what happened with Joe Gibbs Racing driver Christopher Bell.

Bell had been showing top-notch speed for the past few races, winning poles back-to-back in all three races of the round of 16. However, he failed to stick to his initial momentum later on in the race. After it was all over, Bell shared his feelings in a post-race interview.

Despite winning both Stage 1 and 2, the victory seemed elusive for the Oklahoma native. Needless to mention, he was the best in points at the Bass Pro Shops Night race, bagging a whopping 54 points. However, the speed that he flaunted initially definitely did not compliment his 3rd place finish.

During a post-race interview, the number 20 Toyota pilot exclaimed that it was the best race for them in a long time. He said it was also the most disappointing. “Just to be that good early and let it slip away; it was extremely disappointing,he said.

Despite making a top 3 finish, Bell was not happy. He even pointed towards the point when he started slipping away from the lead. “I was right at the start of the third stage when we lost track position and then I just got tight,” he added.

However, Joe Gibbs‘ prot?g? did enough to be locked into the playoff rumble moving into Texas next weekend. Despite last year being a disaster for him with two flat tires and a DNF, he feels like he has everything it takes to win.

He exclaimed, “Denny (Hamlin) in the 11 team did an amazing job getting the car right at the right time.” All things considered, it is safe to say that Saturday was a good day for Joe Gibbs and his Cup team.

Back in 2019, Christopher Bell corkscrewed his spot in the Xfinity Series Championship by putting up a strong competition. In the 200-lap-long race, Bell led 101 laps, winning both stages and leaving opponent Ross Chastain behind by more than 5.5 seconds.

Moreover, Bell led the Xfinity Series with 8 wins, 1874 laps led and 20 stage wins. In an NB CSN interview, Bell said, “That was pretty special to win here at Texas.”

“I got a lot of family over there in the background. This is for my nephew. I promised him years ago that if I ever won, I?d give him the flag at Texas. I knew we were competitive,” he added.

Fast forward to the post-race interview with Fronstretch, Bell said: “It (race in Texas) should be good… Hopefully we can go and have a good show… We have the tools to do that… we’ll get to go to Texas with a fresh start.
