Last Sunday, Matt Kenseth was back on the racing track for the first time since 2017. The veteran driver revealed his first experience of the current-gen car.
This was the first time Kenseth was driving a Gen-6 car with the current aero and downforce package. In the race, he had a decent run and was able to finish on the 10th place. His teammate and good friend Kurt Busch got a podium place at P3.
NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass revealed Matt’s first experience with the current car. He said in a tweet, “As far as the transition to getting back into the car, Matt Kenseth said the low horsepower, high drag package was a little easier to drive.”

At Chip Ganassi, Matt is back together with his Roush co-driver Kurt Busch. He said that he had a discussion with Busch before accepting the Ganassi offer and is eager to work with his ex-teammate.
In an interview, he talks about his upcoming adventure in Chip Ganassi. He said, “It was a very unexpected opportunity. The timing was very, very interesting,”.
Talking about his expectations for the season, he said, “So the first few weeks, at least the first week, I’m trying to keep our expectations low because if we’re really going to these races and all these places with no practice, that’s going to be a slow adjustment to me.”
