When Denny Hamlin crossed the line to take victory at the 2024 Busch Light Clash, the community was ecstatic to finally get back into action! But the event itself couldn’t top the first Clash at the Coliseum. And now that NASCAR’s three-year deal with the L.A. Coliseum to host the exhibition rave is over, many insiders are concerned about the Clash’s future. While some suggest Los Angeles is too lucrative of a market to give up on, the sport’s veterans feel otherwise!

And now that Dale Earnhardt Jr is pulling no punches as he expresses his desire to see the Busch Light Clash return to the Daytona International Speedway, Kenny Wallace also chimed in to support the Cup Series icon. Unfortunately, the community may not like what the host of the Kenny Conversation podcast had to say regarding how the reception has been toward the exhibition race.

Only recently, Dale Earnhardt Jr shared his wishes to see the Clash stray away from going to racetracks like the L.A. Coliseum and perhaps places like Mexico, feeling that the event belonged at the Daytona International Speedway. And while Junior is one to remain calm on such topics, this time around, the JR Motorsports owner was running out of patience.

So only a few hours after the Dale Jr Download, Kenny Wallace took to Instagram to comment on Junior’s Daytona wishes. He stated, “While we all agree with Dale Jr, you ALL need to show up. It pisses me off equally, that you all go, “Yeah, it needs to be back to Daytona”. All I ever remember you all saying is, “They wreck too much! It’s boring! Look! Look! There’s nobody in the grandstands! So, because of everything you all said, they tried something, right?”

Wallace quickly pointed out the ironic nature of the NASCAR community’s demands. When the shootout was taking place in Daytona, many complaints would make their way to the driver’s and officials’ ears. From complaints of a lack of cars on the circuit to the issue that there was too much carnage owing to the small layout, But even when NASCAR shifted to the Clash in 2022, the complaints continued, with the consensus now being that the action just wasn’t enough.

However, Kenny Wallace wasn’t done there. He went on to unleash his frustration with the fanbase over their inability to decide what they wanted. Wallace added, “They went out to the L.A. Coliseum, but it’s not what you want. Now you want it right back to where you said you didn’t like it. You know what this is? That’s a forked tongue. It means you speak out of this way and you speak out of that way. Make your mother f***** mind up.”

So it’s safe to say that Kenny Wallace and Dale Earnhardt Jr certainly would love to see the exhibition race return to Daytona. But can the community create enough of a wave to shake the officials?

With all the ongoing speculation regarding the end of the Clash at the Coliseum and possible replacement markets, a few have emerged as the top contenders. Many believe that the clash could return to the Coliseum if there are no other options in the L.A. market or even a stadium like that belonging to the Dallas Cowboys. So to settle things once and for all, Kyle Busch took to X to share a poll with the community.

The options were fairly simple and managed to capture the top demand reasonably, from Back to Daytona, “Return to the Coliseum”, “Overseas/ Out of the US 🌍” and lastly, “Dallas Cowboy Stadium 🤠.” While there had been a buzz regarding NASCAR taking the sport international with an appearance in Mexico, the polls revealed that the fans’ interests were indeed aligned with that of Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Topping the poll with a whopping 62% of votes, a return to Daytona was the fans’ favorite solution to the Clash at the Coliseum dilemma. And while the Dallas Cowboys Stadium and an overseas prospect were tied with 15%, Kennt Wallace was also right about the fan reception around the Clash at the Coliseum. After all, that option only received a lowly 6.2% of the votes, a tenth of the demand that a return to Daytona has!
