As Legacy Motor Club is gearing up for the 2024 season, 7x NASCAR Cup Series champion Jimmy Johnson has unveiled their state-of-the-art homegrown preparations. A pit stop is one of the prime aspects in motorsports that could make or break a driver’s race outcome, and the off-season is probably the best time to polish the pit crew’s skills. So naturally, Johnson and his team are leaving no stone unturned to ace the game of pitstop.
Jimmie Johnson unravels his enthusiasm for the new in-house program
With less than 50 days left for the checkered flag to be dropped at the Busch Light Clash At The Coliseum preseason exhibition race, Johnson and Legacy Motor Club revealed their in-house recipe for future dominance.

The NASCAR Hall of Famer took to his Instagram and posted a video, expressing his excitement by saying, “I am here watching our over-the-wall pit crew. It’s practice day. I am excited!” Johnson showcased the pit crew’s energy as Legacy Motor Club’s Black Toyota Camry began the practice run. Johnson captioned the video and wrote, “Building an in-house pit crew program has taken a lot of commitment and determination. Can’t wait to see the hard work pay off. #TeamToyota.”

The Legacy Motor Club co-owner’s revelation showcased the speed and precision with which the pit crew changed the tires. Johnson’s team’s top-of-the-line practice session shows a promising feat in the 2024 season. However, despite their speedy pitstop, fans couldn’t help but express their anger over Johnson’s big switch.

Johnson bids adieu to Chevrolet for Toyota, and fans did not like that
Johnson has spent the entirety of his career, or 689 races, to be precise, with Chevrolet. However, in June of 2023, the big news about his switch from Chevrolet to Toyota came in and has been the point of fans’ displeasure since. Despite the impressive pit stop stint, the car not being a Chevrolet disappointed the fans, and they didn’t shy away from expressing their sadness.

One of Johnson’s avid fans expressed their disappointment over his new engine manufacturer and wrote, “Jimmie! I am very disappointed in you and your team. I have followed you for a long long time and respect you very much. However, no way at all I will ever support any Toyota team. I follow Chevrolet and your decision to go with the Toyota is very disappointing…. I don’t support these brands that I have mentioned.”

Another fan, too, expressed his disappointment but at the same time, didn’t hold back from seeing Johnson behind the wheel in the upcoming season and commented, “I’m not going to lie it hurts my heart a little to not see the Chevy logo. But since I don’t know the details of how this change took place I will just enjoy watching you behind the wheel!”
A fan expressed his disappointment with Chevrolet for not making Johnson a key partner but rooted for him in a Toyota at the same time and wrote, “Jimmie, as a 48er I respect what you are having to do to make your company work. Disappointed Chevy did not make you a key partner after all you have done for their brand… for the first time be rooting for my first Toyotas! Let’s GO Legacy !!”
