Last week, Kyle Busch voiced his opinion on the lack of respect among drivers in the garage. Since then, myriad views on the topic have surfaced in the NASCARverse. One of these was by Stewart-Haas Racing driver, Ryan Preece. After a wreck involving Ty Gibbs and Ricky Stenhouse Jr among others, Preece was forced to end his day at the Circuit of The Americas.
Upset by the incident, Preece took to social media to call out the “bunch of hacks” who put him in the position.

While discussing Preece‘s comments on the Door Bumper Clear podcast, NASCAR spotter Brett Griffin explained his views on what exactly motivated the incidents on track during the race. He said, “This is a product of what is on the line. It’s the stage points, it’s the finishing position, it’s the opportunity to make the playoffs, the opportunity to make the All-Star race.
“And when you have these late race cautions at these tracks, where there are places like Turn 1 exist or a place like Martinsville or a place like Bristol where you’ve got an opportunity to lay a bumper to a guy and change your season completely, right?”
Brett Griffin asks Ryan Preece to get used to it
After explaining how actions like these on the track can be used by drivers to change their race or season completely, Brett Griffin reminisced about Brad Keselowski and Joey Logano’s contact in the previous race.
Furthermore, the NASCAR spotter emphasized the fact that a driver must try to win at all costs. He added, “I said last week, Keselowski lost that race to Logano when he run into his right rear, it changes your season. So, if you got an opportunity to go win at all cost, we talk about it on the show, win at all cost.”
Reacting to Ryan Preece’s comments after the race, Griffin bluntly stated, “Preece better get used to it. ‘Cause I am gonna tell you what, it ain’t gonna get easier for him.”

Even though Brett Griffin had some hard-hitting advice for Ryan Preece, his co-host and Bubba Wallace’s spotter Freddie Kraft defended the Stewart-Haas Racing driver. Sharing how he thinks that Griffin misunderstood Preece’s words, Kraft said, “I don’t think that’s what Ryan Preece means though.
“I think [if] Ryan’s running second at Martinsville on the white flag lap and he’s on the guy’s bumper, I definitely think Ryan probably bumps the guy a little bit and races him to the line.
“Now, I think what Ryan’s talking about here is the end of the race that I said earlier, you’re running 19th, had a bad day, you are just going around looking to hit somebody.
“And I think that’s what he means. You are going in there, a guy’s running 8th or 9th, hasn’t had anything all day, just trying to get to the finish line. Here comes the guy from four lanes back, just T-bones you for no reason.”

However, despite Kraft’s explanation of his take on Preece’s words, Brett Griffin refused to give in. “I’m gonna say it again, get used to it,” he reiterated.
