Dale Earnhardt Jr comes from one of the most well-known families in NASCAR. While he has raced against some of the best racers, he also has had the opportunity to get acquainted with some legendary players of his father Dale Earnhardt Sr’s generation. Cale Yarborough was definitely one of those fantastic drivers. While Junior has been seen enjoying with Yarborough in the past, he was left quite baffled by someone who once used to work for the 84-year-old.
To date, Yarborough remains one of the two drivers to win the NASCAR Cup Series for three consecutive years. In fact, it was Dale Sr who stopped him from winning his fourth in five years in 1980. Recently, one of Yarborough’s insiders was involved in a weird conversation with Dale Jr.

Given his on and off-track success in NASCAR, it is unsurprising that Dale Jr owns some fine assets. Not only does he co-own JR Motorsports, but he also has a vodka brand to his name, a media house for different ranges and genres of podcasts, a 300-acre Old Western town, and a lot more.
While that is a fascinating collection, one thing that he certainly doesn’t own right now is a helicopter. Reportedly, ever since his plane crash in 2019, Junior has been a bit hesitant to fly. However, one of Cale Yarborough’s old team members thought otherwise as he recently claimed Dale Jr still owns a helicopter.
During the recently concluded Martinsville race, longtime NASCAR community member, John Dodson had an interesting observation. He claimed Junior’s helicopter flew over his house in Mount Ulla and that he would reach the track in 40 minutes.
For all you @NASCAR Fans in @MartinsvilleSwy @DaleJr ‘s helicopter just flew over the house here in Mt. Ulla. He’ll be there in about 40 minutes 😎🏁

It is surprising, as there is no recent evidence of Dale Jr owning one. However, the former Hendrick Motorsports had a sarcastic and funny reply to this tweet. He said, “Is this a tweet from 2004?”.
Surprisingly, Dodson didn’t stop there. He replied, “It was today Jr. I was outside when the helicopter returned too. I could always tell what track you were heading to. Good neighbor!!”

Perplexed by the response, the NASCAR Hall of Famer replied, “Man I ain’t owned a heli since 2009”. Guess what, Dodson wasn’t done yet.
He said, “That’s it, I ain’t waving at no more helicopters. No telling who’s up there. Somebody is checking out our neighborhood.”
