Fast food conglomerate McDonald’s has been a sponsor for the Michael Jordan-owned 23XI Racing for years now. In a recent revelation, it was announced that both the team’s drivers will be sporting McDonald’s-inspired paint schemes on their cars in the upcoming Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami. With McD being one of the team’s biggest sponsors, it’s not surprising that marketing efforts would be targeted at making use of the food giant’s mascots.

Being a part of one such initiative, the No. 23 driver Bubba Wallace faced a funny encounter that has left fans in a puzzle. The driver posted a video of this unexpected meet-up that left him in splits on his “X” handle.

After holding an online poll asking fans to choose the paint scheme for Bubba Wallace’s car, McDonald’s made their call a couple of days back. As a result, 23XI Racing announced that both #23 and #45 cars will be paying homage to the mascots of McD. The first car that was unveiled was the #23 of Bubba Wallace. Cast in a dark purple and gold color, the scheme was dedicated to celebrating Grimace, a character featured in the infamous McDonaldLand commercials.

In the wake of this announcement, Wallace has now put up a jovial recording of Grimace—The Mascot following him around a McDonald’s outlet. Captioning the hilarious video, “Been feeling watched lately…,” the driver has raised many questions amongst his followers, with some even funnily claiming that the man behind the costume could be his best friend, Ryan Blaney.
