Daniel Suarez is having the best days of his life during the NASCAR Olympic break. Not only did he get married to the love of his wife, Julia Piquet, but he also managed to snag a win at the legendary Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace. Suarez went to Brazil during the break, where he married the daughter of the 3 time F1 champion Nelson Piquet. Once the ceremony was over, he had some unfinished business in Brazil.
Yes, NASCAR Brasil! He took to the tracks on the first opportunity that he got, and in a NASCAR Brazil car, he not only participated but won Race 2 out of 3. It was a different format where he drove a car that was less powerful than the one he was used to, but in the end, he managed to show what he was made of. This now raises the question: will this be enough to get him a seat in IndyCar?

No one has quite done their Olympic break like Daniel Suarez has, as this double achievement of getting married and winning a race adds to his year that is going swimmingly well for him. The win in Brazil has marked his third victory of the year, making it one in the NASCAR Cup series, Mexico and Brazil each. This makes him the only man on Earth to ever win three races across different series in the same year.
Suarez competed in a 2-round event at Interlagos in São Paulo, Brazil, and although he crossed the finish line first during the first race, he was given a 5-second penalty for a collision with Leo Torres. With the penalty, he was placed at P6. While the contact was minor and Torres stated that the penalty was not needed, Suarez continued to the next race.
That was where karma did its thing, as he ended up winning the race after finishing second due to a time penalty given to Lucas Mendes. Having such a great weekend should be great for Daniel Suarez, especially considering the fact that despite his win in the Cup series, his team, Trackhouse Racing, is still unsure if he is the driver for them.

Let’s start with when Daniel Suarez first started dating Julia Piquet in 2012. The two were instantly a power couple as Suarez was getting into racing and Piquet was working on being a fitness coach. Today both stand well accomplished in their lives, and after getting engaged in November 2022, they finally tied themselves in this union.
The couple spared no expense in making this day extra special, as they booked a scenic venue at Recanto das Aguas. Why did they choose Brazil to get married? The Piquet family being Brazilian might answer that for starters. Julie Piquet told People Magazine, “Being able to get married in my hometown of Brasilia, where I lived for four years during high school, is very special. It’s a place that I love. So, it really was a no-brainer.”

The celebrations kicked off on Sunday, July 28 with a cocktail party hosted by Julia’s father, Nelson Piquet. Keeping the ceremony intimate, they called 160 people in total, and they all were called to a lavishly beautiful garden decorated with green and white hints of light pink. “Angels” by Robbie Williams was the song that they did their first dance to, and it was definitely a sight to behold. It’s safe to say that Suarez is living the dream and will be highly motivated to prove himself when the Olympic break ends.
