This season we’ve seen a side of Chase Elliott we hadn’t seen much in the past. The thing is, the Hendrick Motorsports driver is a very stoic and calm figure, but there have been instances this year when he’s lost his cool.

And while there’s nothing wrong with being angry or frustrated, it’s a genuine human emotion after all, it’s still worth mentioning the way this time around Elliott dealt with the people around him in terms of his behavior.

The 2020 Cup Series champion was visibly upset post the race at the ROVAL after he spun out of a possible race win with three to go.

After the race though, Elliott was standing with his HMS teammate, William Byron, chatting away when a cameraperson came close to the two teammates.

This led to NASCAR’s most popular driver using his hand to steer the camera away from them, before taking a couple of steps in its direction to emphasize the point.

Elliott’s actions did go unnoticed by a lot of people but not by the fans, with most of them condemning his misdemeanor. In fact, there were some reactions that suggested that had it been Bubba Wallace or Kyle Busch instead of Chase Elliott, things would’ve been different.

Chase Elliott shares his thoughts on the next playoff round

In a post-race interview, Chase Elliott opened up on the chances for the #9 team for the upcoming round of 8 in the playoffs at Las Vegas, Miami, and Martinsville.

“I think it’s going to be a really tough round. Vegas was a struggle for us in the spring, Homestead, we’ve just been really hit-or-miss there…and then obviously Martinsville is going to be about how high you qualify because I don’t see anybody passing anybody there,” he said.
