This season we’ve seen a side of Chase Elliott we hadn’t seen much in the past. The thing is, the Hendrick Motorsports driver is a very stoic and calm figure, but there have been instances this year when he’s lost his cool.
And while there’s nothing wrong with being angry or frustrated, it’s a genuine human emotion after all, it’s still worth mentioning the way this time around Elliott dealt with the people around him in terms of his behavior.

The 2020 Cup Series champion was visibly upset post the race at the ROVAL after he spun out of a possible race win with three to go.
After the race though, Elliott was standing with his HMS teammate, William Byron, chatting away when a cameraperson came close to the two teammates.
This led to NASCAR’s most popular driver using his hand to steer the camera away from them, before taking a couple of steps in its direction to emphasize the point.
Elliott’s actions did go unnoticed by a lot of people but not by the fans, with most of them condemning his misdemeanor. In fact, there were some reactions that suggested that had it been Bubba Wallace or Kyle Busch instead of Chase Elliott, things would’ve been different.
If Kyle Busch did this, people would demand he get kicked out of the series. Such a disrespectful moment from Elliott here. The cameraperson is just doing their job. Go talk in the hauler if you don’t want cameras. pic.twitter.com/jhoqJQHubj

Could you imagine the reaction if it had been Bubba? 😳

Chase Elliot is still just a spoiled brat and this continues to prove it. Disrespectful bro. And Hendrick forfeited Larsons chance at a championship for the 24 car who has no chance! I don’t like either, but still a stupid on their part. https://t.co/AuK1lgbgtv

Chase Elliott should be docked 50 points for literally assaulting a cameraman.

I don’t want to beat a dead horse but that’s what happens when you grow up a rich kid… you don’t respect anyone… I mean, look at the racing we been watching and tell me I’m wrong.

Kurt Busch got suspended or fined for doing something similar years ago. Nascar's golden boy won't get anything from this smh

Chase Elliott shares his thoughts on the next playoff round
In a post-race interview, Chase Elliott opened up on the chances for the #9 team for the upcoming round of 8 in the playoffs at Las Vegas, Miami, and Martinsville.
“I think it’s going to be a really tough round. Vegas was a struggle for us in the spring, Homestead, we’ve just been really hit-or-miss there…and then obviously Martinsville is going to be about how high you qualify because I don’t see anybody passing anybody there,” he said.

Do you think Chase Elliott will make it through the next round or will he also fall away like his teammate Kyle Larson did in this round?
