If you are a Kyle Busch fan, you know where he is headed. No, not to the finish line of the worst season of his career. ‘Rowdy’ is off on a family vacation to Italy, the country of art and delicious food. And what better way to spend the two-week Olympic break than a vacation in a beautiful foreign land, right? However, just as Kyle’s season isn’t going as planned, the vacation isn’t as Samantha Busch hoped.

To relax was the goal of this family getaway, but so far, their trip hasn’t given them the chance to do that. While the pictures Samantha shared from their day out in Rome would suggest otherwise, don’t let that fool you. One reason is that “it’s just parenting in a different country.” But what’s the other problem?

As Samantha Busch laid out in her Instagram story, it all began with a flight delay. She shared, “So first of all, our flight was delayed two hours, which is fine, no big deal. Like, I get it. That meant that they did dinner service around 11. So at that point in the plane, Lennix is overtired. So then Homegirl stayed up till I don’t even know. It was over a seven-hour flight, and she stayed up for four and a half hours of it.”

Tired and bored toddlers are a tough crowd to entertain. But Samantha, being the strong mother she is, shared, “So [Lennix] finally got about three hours of sleep. [I] got one. We powered through today.” And finally, a sleep-deprived Busch family landed in Italy, and Kyle Busch’s wife felt “so disoriented” on Day 1. The problems didn’t end there, though. While their first day in Italy may have been going well – with visits to Vatican City and the Sistine Chapel – Lennix caused even more trouble.

“Lennix hadn’t pooped for three days and proceeded to have a mass blowout during dinner after her mass meltdown, which I’m trying to apologize for profusely in Italian,” Samantha shared. But once again, she powered through the tantrums of her two-year-old. While you would think that she and Kyle Busch would’ve caught a break following that – especially considering this was a break for them to enjoy, too – you may want to think again.

Next? In their hotel room, they started to smell smoke but ignored it, thinking it was from someone who was smoking in their room’s vicinity. However, it increased, and Samantha and Braxton (their son) started to cough. Now, they thought there might be a fire, and they went to report it to the hotel management. However, after playing more Sherlock, the mother of two realized it was all due to a burnt-up adapter.

Here’s the back story to it, as Samantha explained: “We went on Amazon and bought different chargers, knowing that they are not the same here. Anyways, the hour-long story short is when I turned on the sound machine, we didn’t buy the right adapter and blew the f***ing thing up.” That’s what caused the smoke. Samantha ended her tiring day and story, hoping Day 2 would be better. It looks like it was.

More updates on their trip? Samantha was enjoying ice cream in one of the pictures she shared, captioning it, “Gluten and dairy free at home, here no issues.” Besides this, they also went on a trip down her dad’s memory lane – to the home where he grew up and the neighborhood that was his playground. In one of the videos in her stories, Samantha’s father pointed toward the room where he was born. Such happy moments for the family! “So surreal knowing he was born here… “Amazing getting to see and learn all of this. I have always heard the story, but to actually get to be here is incredible,” Samantha wrote.

However, much like the disasters during their trip, Kyle Busch is also struggling in his current season. But who knows? Maybe this two-week break is exactly what he may have needed to make a comeback.

What’s next for Kyle Busch?

After Rome, the Busch family is headed to Naples, as per Samantha’s itinerary. But what about his 2024 season? What about playoffs? Kyle Busch’s Brickyard run showed promise. He almost managed to get in the top 5 before a crash with Denny Hamlin just three laps before the race was to end. An optimistic Busch, after the race, even said, “The ending is just the way racing is today. Thanks to Cheddar’s for their support. We will spend the next couple of weeks with our families and bounce back at Richmond Raceway.”

As his playoff chances hang in the balance, Kyle Busch is in a desperate fight for survival. Sitting 112 points below the cutoff, the Richard Childress Racing driver must win one of the final four races to stay in contention. It’s disheartening to see the No. 8 driver in this situation, especially considering the 39-year-old has never faced a winless season in his Cup Series career.

Additionally, it’s not a good time at the RCR HQ, as Austin Dillon is also struggling, currently 32nd in the points table. Trying to be optimistic, Richard Childress, in an interview, said, “You can’t fix it in the middle of the year… A lot of it is engineering. I feel that we’re strong in a lot of areas and weak in some of the others. I want to beef up our engineering. We’ve got a lot of stuff that we’re working on and hopefully, we can get both of them running better.”

With racing resuming on August 11, Kyle Busch would hope to relax as much as he can before the final push of the regular season. Only time will tell whether he can make the playoffs. But do you think the NASCAR champion can bounce back? Let us know in the comments!
