Dale Earnhardt Jr is arguably among the few prominent NASCAR personalities who have cracked the social media game. His brainchild, Dirty Mo Media Production, is a huge hit among race fans known for its weekly shows such as Dale Jr Download, Actions Detrimental, and ‘Door, Bumper, Clear.’ Moreover, he recently hit a big milestone, reaching 1 million Instagram followers. Additionally, he has found huge success with his X, or Twitter, account, with 2.5 million followers on his profile.

However, ever since Elon Musk took over the platform, there’s been huge confusion regarding its name. Surprisingly, even Musk tends to rethink his decision about the name change. This is where Dale Jr’s suggestion of doing away with his antics and adopting the original name came in.

Elon Musk does know how to engage with users online. Polls have been his most effective tool for understanding people’s sentiments. Notably, he conducted a poll asking the users whether he should step down as the company’s CEO. He said that he would make the decision based on the poll results. Well, the decision did come against him, and while he did take time, he stepped down from his position, appointing Linda Yaccarino as the social media giant’s CEO. However, the Space X founder still has a hard time folding to people’s opinions about changing the name of the platform back to Twitter.

Sharing his take on the matter, Dale Earnhardt Jr via DJD said, “I’ve seen this a couple of times, but Elon went on Twitter or X, you know, and he keeps asking, he does this like every four five six months (…) And it’s like, 98% everybody wants Twitter. I agree, I still call it Twitter. I can’t change and I’m too lazy to change, but he keeps tweeting this poll every so often, and I wonder if the results continue to be heavily towards Twitter, whether he’ll just rebrand it back.”

Apart from his suggestion to Musk, Dale Jr even brought on the Coca-Cola 600 winner, Christopher Bell on the show. Given that JR Motorsports co-owner himself hasn’t won the crown jewel NASCAR race, he was interested to hear from the JGR star what it felt like, especially with the race cut short by NASCAR due to foul weather.

Everybody was racing for rain, according to Christopher Bell

It’s no secret that whenever there’s a rain prediction, teams, and crew chiefs advise the drivers to go all out and gain track position as much as they can while the race is green. A similar strategy was put into place by the race winner, Bell, and his #20 team, knowing that rain could ultimately decide the race winner.

Despite winning the race, the JGR driver confessed to feeling weird about winning the race in the manner he did. Moreover, he was shocked to see NASCAR call the race official after 249, given that they had virtually dried out the racing surface at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“I never in a million years thought that the race would get canceled. After the rain stopped, they started drying the track. I thought we were in it for the long haul.” Bell even started preparing for the late-night race and decided to take a nap in his motor home.

“I was surprised that they were going through the drying process because it was 10:15 before it stopped raining, and then I knew we had at least two hours of racing left. Whenever they did not cancel the race, they did not quit drying, I went to the motorhome, and I was trying to get a nap in.”

Meanwhile, Dale Jr sided with the governing body in calling the race official after the halfway point, thus taking the fans by surprise.
