At the age of 45, Kevin Harvick is definitely one of the most senior drivers. Naturally, many have wondered when he will finally hang up his boots. Back in 2020, he revealed that he penned a 2-year contract extension. In addition to that, the Stewart-Haas driver insisted that he has no plans to retire from racing.
“I love the competition,” Harvick said. “I love being around my guys. I love being in the shop and around the people in the meetings to try to figure out what’s wrong, to try to figure out what’s right and move things around and try to move the needle in the right direction. There’s no real second thoughts, and that’s why we do it so early, so I can wrap my arms around this is what I’m doing. If that’s what I’m doing, I’m not going to do it half-ass. … I know where my head is at, and that makes me dig in.”

The veteran insisted that he still enjoys racing and he cannot get that kind of excitement while standing in a TV booth. Honestly, it has been a tough year for Harvick, especially after a dream season last year. Sadly, he could not replicate that form and got eliminated early in the championship.
Kevin Harvick did not help his own case with his feud with the likes of Chase Elliott. To be honest, their spat was a nasty one, and it likely affected his performance on the track.
Now, all that he can do is move on from this season and look ahead to the 2022 season. Over here, he will be keen to redeem himself and prove that age is just a number. Without a doubt, the Stewart-Haas Racing team is a strong outfit, so they will be aiming to improve.
