Last year, Ross Chastain made his name synonymous with two things, walls and Denny Hamlin. His insane move to book his place in the Final 4 at Martinsville became an internet-shattering phenomenon for it’s sheer audacity and what it ended up doing.
And then there were his repeated incidents with Denny Hamlin in several races during 2022, something which not only carried into the current season, but also diversified to other drivers as well.
Perhaps that was the reason why some NASCAR fans reacted the way they did after a seemingly simple picture of Chastain surfaced online.

NASCAR Insider calls out Chastain’s Dover incident
In a recent episode of the Door Bumper Clear podcast, Brett Griffin reacted to the Trackhouse Racing driver’s recent incident with Brennan Poole at Dover on Monday which compromised not only Poole’s race but also that of Kyle Larson.
“Ross screwed up. Ross took out Kyle Larson and Kyle Larson later impeded Ross’ path at one point during the race to help Martin Truex go on to win, I’m not saying that’s how he won because obviously, he had a restart pit strategy play out, and other things. But at some point … Ross doesn’t believe anybody’s going to do anything to him,” he described.
