2023 was nothing short of a fairytale for Roush Fenway Keselowski racing and their star driver, Chris Buescher. After visiting victory lane three times and finishing in the top five a staggering nine times, Buescher and team-owner Brad Keselowski’s relationship has evidently grown into a tight bond. With 2024 shaping up to be a year of even greater expectations both from Buescher as a driver and from Keselowski as a team owner, all eyes are on the RFK camp to find signs of pressure slipping through the cracks.

But when we take a closer look at what’s really going on behind the scenes, it’s safe to say the two are as friendly as ever! While Chris Buescher was doing a photo operation for RFK Racing this week, Keselowski interrupted his star driver much like an eager fan would, hoping to get an autograph, and the conversation that ensued was nothing short of comedic gold.

Heading into the winter season, RFK Racing was taking pictures of Buescher and Keselowski in their respective suits for the 2024 season as well as the dual trading card series. The card featured both teammates on each side, with space for their autographs, one of which was already filled in by Keselowski while he searched for his star driver to fill in the remaining gap.

Ignoring the cameras surrounding Buescher as he posed for the RFK camera crew, Keselowski marched toward his star driver, demanding him to stop what he was doing right that second. He exclaimed, “Excuse me! Excuse me! Could you sign my card?” To which Buescher promptly retorted, “Yes I will sign your baby’s forehead. Oh, Card? Oh okay.” Keselowski looked eternally grateful as Buescher signed his autograph dual card, but the jokes didn’t end there.

The 31-year-old chimed in, “I just took away some value by signing this card!” While that certainly wouldn’t be true, Buescher couldn’t have been more pleased with the card as RFK Racing shared a picture of their star driver smiling ear to ear, holding up the signed dual card. It’s safe to say the trading card was a hit with the fans too, as one shared on Twitter, “Now that’s a card to have! I would be super excited if I pulled that card out of a pack! Would be an Amazing find. 🏁“

Now that the dual card was complete, it looked immaculate with both signatures of the RFK Racing duo, but do you know what looks even better? RFK’s 2024 color scheme with Castrol, of course.

The winter break has given fans quite the treat in terms of the paint scheme announcements that teams have been bombarding social media with over the past few weeks. While some standouts including William Byron’s Axalta and Raptor racing liveries have been the major subject of conversations, RFK Racing’s 2024 partnership with Castrol as their primary sponsor has given fans a sight to behold.

Castrol and RFK Racing will team up to paint their livery in the primary sponsor’s iconic colors with a black base, as Brad Keselowski aims to kick-start their fifth season together at the Clash at the Coliseum on the 4th of February. This will also be the first time the sponsor will appear with Keselowski for the Daytona 500, a hallmark achievement that marks the beginnings of a long partnership.

Steve Newmark, President of RFK Racing shared in a statement, “While this serves as an announcement for fans of our paint schemes, we’re even more thrilled to kick off another successful season with Castrol in 2024. Castrol has been one of our anchor partners for years, and to have them on the car for ‘The Great American Race’ will be exciting for all of us as we look to continue some of the Speedway success from years prior.”

After Buescher scored a valuable victory at Michigan to further solidify the team’s relationship with Castrol, the future is nothing but bright. Newmark added, “They have been the lynchpin, and driving force, for our sustainability efforts, and help us be better both on and off the track. We’re thrilled to continue showcasing and expanding the partnership together moving forward.”
