There’s no space for friendships and bromance in a sport like NASCAR. This has been a theme for the drivers over the years, who have found that friction and rivalries better serve their purpose than making friends on the grid. These rivalries can sometimes even extend beyond the racetrack and often result in all-out brawls. Of course, Joey Logano and Kyle Busch know how quickly tempers escalate during the race weekends. However, despite their history and fair share of punches, it looks like their relationship has turned a corner.

Speaking on the Sirius XM Radio show, Penske’s star driver shed light on his equation with Kyle Busch. Considering the history the two drivers share and Busch’s “two-face” take on Logano last year, it is hard to see them get along. However, it seems like Logano has made his peace with Busch but is not sure if the Rowdy sees him as a friend just yet.

Kyle Larson & HMS Are Planning to Return to Indy 500 Next Year. But Should They?

Yes! It Is Great for NASCAR

No, It Was a Disaster This Time

NASCAR driver Joey Logano, at the start of the season, is looking to strike a balance between confrontation and collaboration. While he has reignited his beef with Ty Gibbs at the end of 2024 Busch Light Clash, he may have tuned his old foe, Kyle Busch, into a friend. At least, that is what he likes to believe.

Speaking on Sirius XM, the 33-year-old said, “I don’t know if he considers me as his friend yet, okay! I did tell him thought if you ever breaks down on your way home or something, I can be his first call. I’ll get up and come pick his b*tt up. I don’t know if he’ll do that for me yet but I’d do that for him. If you call me in the middle of the night to come pick you up, I’m not going to leave you on the side of the road okay.”

He even went on to share that the two have been brokering a peace pact while flying together. “There’s a friend of ours who has a really cool plane. He’s one of the nicest people you’ve ever met and we all fly on the west coast trips together. You know when you’re trapped in a tube for six hours you really tend to work some things out.”

The 2022 Busch Light Clash event was the one where Penske’s No. 22 driver served up some rough treatment towards Kyle Busch. The venue is infamous for accidents, cautions, bumps, and wrecks. But at times, drivers try to make the most of any excuse to dish out their hidden vendetta. Unfortunately for Busch, he found himself on the receiving end that day by none other than Logano, which eventually cost him the win.

Fast forward to the 2024 Clash, it was Logano this time around who got the bitter end of the stick. Albeit it was Ty Gibbs who was a thorn in his side and not Busch.

Speaking about the on-track temper and how it affects the driver’s equation going into the season, Logano explained how things get out of control and mistakes creep in. In doing so, he added, “I’ve been on both ends of it. I got Kyle last year,” to which the Rowdy replied, “I still owe you,” in a sarcastic tone.
