With the first stage of playoffs over, the NASCAR 2023 Cup Series season slowly approaches its twilight zone. It is a matter of the last few races that would decide the new champion of the series on the track of Phoenix Raceway. As the NASCAR fandom slowly awaits the final showdown with bated breath, the authorities unraveled a small glimpse into the 2024 racing schedule.

The 2023 Cup Series season marked the inclusion of a few experimental races, and also the return of racing to the iconic tracks, which were once left in a desolate condition, it is apparent that the upcoming season would be following the same suit. While the traditional racing tracks will continue hosting its races, NASCAR is also set to introduce another unfamiliar racing venue to its schedule.

NASCAR set to introduce new venue for the 2024 season

With just 7 more races left in the ongoing season, NASCAR is already gearing up and setting the stage for the upcoming season. The 2023 season turned out to be a fruitful season for the authorities, as it was able to implement and include several new strategies, and also new racing venues. Whether it was the inaugural race at Chicago Street track or the return of the North Wilkesboro stadium, the governing body has tried to make the sport more dynamic and increase its fan reach.

On account of this, NASCAR did not fail to surprise its fandom, as it slowly revealed the schedule for the 2024 season. It is believed that the Chicago street race course will be making a comeback for another season, along with the return of the few iconic intermediate tracks. Moreover, NASCAR also announced that the Busch Light Clash would be returning to LA Memorial Coliseum in 2024 for a third consecutive year.

However, the surprises don’t end there as it announced another significant venture for the next season. The authorities also announced that NASCAR would be adding the Mexico Series to its schedule which will precede the starting event of the Cup Series on February 4. NASCAR’s Vice-President Ben Kennedy in an announcement to the media, disclosed,This is a tremendous win for our fans and our sport.”

“Not only will the fans see the stars of the NASCAR Cup Series in action, they will also bear witness to the talent and skill that is found within the NASCAR Mexico Series. I can’t think of a better way to begin our 2024 season.”

In an effort to increase its international outreach, the Mexico Series would be providing NASCAR, the much much-needed impetus. Jimmy Morales, the president and general manager also expressed his jubilation on the announcement.

Furthermore, the news created a furor and a sense of exhilaration among NASCAR fans. They were more than surprised by the announcement of the unexpected news. They took to Reddit to express their excitement for the incorporation of the Mexico Series.

Many fans wrote, “I really hope this means the Mexico series will be televised, but for some reason, I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t.”

“So glad it’s not a points-paying race, getting Mexico series attention helps as well.”

Others also commented, “Honestly waaaaay more pumped for the Mexico series race but just happy it ain’t a points race.”

With that being said it will be interesting to see, how the 2024 NASCAR schedule transpires and whether it will also include other new venues for the revival of the old tracks and make the sport more inclusive and diverse in nature.
