“If You Want to Sleep in Your Own Bed…” – Tony Stewart on “The Terrible Idea” of Racing Against Wife Leah Pruett

When it comes to racing, it looks like this man has done it all! It is the NASCAR Hall of Famer Tony Stewart who never shies away from anything. This is further evident from the display of his bold personality, sense of adventure, race achievements, and entrepreneurship skills. But there is one thing the man still wouldn’t dare to do, competing against his own wife!

Tony Stewart is a massive name in the NASCAR world given what he has achieved and managed to do till now. From being a three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and Indycar champion to owning Stewart-Haas Racing, he has built quite the legacy for himself. Yet, going against his wife is definitely a no-go for him.

Tony Stewart reveals why he can’t compete with his wife

The team owner’s recent appearance at the “Bubba the Love Sponge Show” shows a rather goofy yet practical side of him. ‘The Bubba Army’, while talking with him on a myriad of topics, grilled Tony Stewart on arguably one of the most controversial topics, marriage!

The host mentioned that earlier, when Tony wasn’t married, he could have competed with anyone with the competitive spirit that he carries. But now that he is married to Leah Pruett, who is also a drag racer, how will it work out for him if he ends up competing against her? 

The wise and witty man, Smoke, without wasting a moment, replied, “It’s a terrible idea!”

He mentioned that his wife, Leah, is as competitive as him. Listening to this, the host teased him with an announcement as if they were at the race start. The host even asked Stewart, “Do you redline on purpose, kid?” Knowing very well that redlining your engine is a bad idea, Smoke very seriously said, “if you want to sleep in your own bed you do.”

He continued, “I mean the best thing you can do is just sit there and go after you because if you beat her you may not even be able to sleep in the same house that night.” While everyone laughed at the end, we all can agree that Smoke answered that wisely.
