How many parents would consider taking their kids to the highly controversial restaurant chain, Hooters? After all, when the unique selling proposition of a restaurant is its skimpily dressed waitresses, it’s difficult to convince people that it is a family-friendly restaurant.

The restaurant chain obviously disagrees. In fact, Hooters boast that they are open to all and are indeed a family-friendly restaurant. Known also for its cozy chill vibe, famous chicken wings, and other classic sports-bar options on the menu, Hooters’ primary attraction is considered by many to be the “Hooter girls.” However, the 2020 Cup Series champion Chase Elliott shared his interesting take on the issue.

Since January 2017, Hooters has been associated with Chase Elliott and his team Hendrick Motorsports. And since then, the restaurant chain has constantly sponsored the champion. In a May 2020 interview with The Brilliantly Dumb Show, Elliott was asked if his sponsor, Hooters, can jump off a mark and become a kind of family restaurant in the coming years. Furthermore, the question was immediately followed by another one, encouraging Elliott to rate the wings at Hooters.

And as one would expect, Elliott decided to tackle the easiest one first. He said, “One to ten on the wings. I mean I feel like they have some wings I would rank like nine or ten, for sure. They’ve come a long way.”

And after taking a few seconds to think about his witty response to the first question, the 2020 Cup Series champion suggested how Hooters is still actually a family restaurant. He said, “I think on the family restaurant, I mean I guess it depends on the family you know. If mom’s okay with taking their kid to the local Hooters, then I guess they could be a family restaurant right now.”

Glad to have this opportunity, Elliott said that he was excited about his future with his sponsor. As reportedonn the official website of Hendrick Motorsports, Elliott said, “Hooters has been a fun partner to work with over the years. They’re a laid-back group that does a great job of promoting their brand and including our team as a big piece of their marketing.

“They do a lot with each of their three primary races. But also make the most of the partnership throughout the entire season. The next several years will be exciting for our team and for the sport. And I’m glad to have Hooters back on board for the ride.”
