In life, there are three things that are constant, the sky is blue and the grass is green. The third constant is that, after every weekend, a new member is added to the “I Hate Ross Chastain” club. The recent inductees are Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr, and Kyle Busch. Truex Jr was the first victim when he and Chastain clashed and the former spun. Later in the race, Larson had a coming together with the Trackhouse Racing Team star. Finally, Kyle Busch got mad during a caution period.

As per the Richard Childress Racing driver’s testimony, Chastain brake-tested him. This occurred while they were waiting for the pace car to back the field up. It was only thanks to the #8 driver’s reflexes that he avoided a collision with the #1 car. When the race ended, he could only muster a 7th-place finish. This put him behind William Byron, Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, Brad Keselowski, Bubba Wallace, and Harrison Burton.

NASCAR fans were begging to see Kyle Busch get his revenge

Following the unexpected brake test, a furious Kyle Busch labeled his rival an “idiot” on the team radio. Suffice to say, quite a few fans agreed with that sentiment and were beseeching Rowdy to wreck Chastain. There were calls like “Dump him Kyle” and “TAKE HIM OUT ROWDY” on social media. Busch has a bit of a reputation for being an aggressive driver, especially in the past. So people were hoping to see shades of the old Rowdy back.

All in all, Ross Chastain has made a nuisance of himself on multiple occasions. Last weekend at the Kansas Speedway, Noah Gragson had had enough and confronted him on the pit road after the race. Gragson grabbed his rival’s suit and Chastain swung out at him in response. That was enough to trigger a major bust-up between the warring drivers before security promptly intervened.

At least the Richard Childress Racing driver enjoyed a revenge served cold

As mentioned before, Busch ended the race in 7th place, which would have been a little disappointing. However, he can take comfort in the fact that Chastain ended his day out of the race and was classified all the way back in 29th place. This was after his final incident with Kyle Larson, where he got turned to the right in the race.

While all of that was happening, William Byron took his third win of the season and is looking like a strong title contender. At least Busch has a couple of wins under his belt, so a Playoff berth is not under threat at all. Until then, he will be looking ahead to the next race at the North Wilkesboro Speedway, which makes a return to NASCAR.
