This weekend is the NASCAR All-Star race at the Texas Motor Speedway. In the buildup to the race weekend, defending Cup champion Kyle Larson spoke about the event. The Hendrick Motorsports star talked about the entire weekend’s new race format and confessed that it sounded pretty exciting on paper.

Larson said, “It’s always interesting because the All-Star race, the format is different each year. So yeah, it’d be interesting and hopefully, we get another All-Star win. I know there’s a lot of logistics and a lot of stuff that goes into it. But I feel like the championship race and the All-Star race would be fun to see move around.”

“Obviously, the championship race is difficult cause it’s November, and the weather throughout the country is not the same. May, I feel like you can kind of race wherever in the United States. For the All-Star race, I would love to see it move around and I think it’d be exciting.”

What to expect from Kyle Larson in the All-Star race?

Last year, Kyle Larson emerged victorious in the race and won the $1 million cash prize. Without a doubt, he will be eager to do it again, but will be wary of his rivals. So far, things have not been going his way in the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.

He has qualified for the Playoffs, but he only has a single win to his name. Teammate William Byron, and fellow Chevrolet driver, Ross Chastain, have two under their belts.

Speaking of the All-Star race, it was first held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in 1985. A year later, it moved to Atlanta, before coming back to Charlotte and making it a permanent home.

However, all of that changed in 2020, when the Bristol Motor Speedway played host to the race. Last year, the Texas Motor Speedway had a shot, and now the paddock is back in Texas for the second year in a row.
