Is Katelyn Larson right to tone down her celebrations, or should she keep the tradition alive?

Kyle Larson might be the most popular NASCAR driver, but his wife, Katelyn, is perhaps more loved by fans than him. Yes, for her supporting nature, she enjoys a strong fanbase as she’s seen cheering in the stands when Larson dominates the race. But more famed is her beer-chugging ritual after Larson takes the chequered flag. The most recent we saw her do that was at the Indianapolis race. Well, there it was called for! Winning at the iconic brickyard and getting to kiss the bricks deserves a cold one.

However, a trend doesn’t take much time to become a nuisance. Katelyn is also active in managing some events from Kyle’s High Limit Sprint Car Series. There, she is often asked by drunken fans to chug a beer. Given Larson’s dominance in Sprint racing and NASCAR, Katelyn would need a lot of beer. However, she doesn’t always aid in the requests. She recently revealed that her famed ritual is no longer something she does now, being a mother of three.

The celebrity mom was a little surprised by the fan frenzy that erupted after she was spotted enjoying a beer at the racetrack. More memorable than Larson’s dominance at the 2023 All-Star race returned to North Wilkesboro Speedway was Katelyn’s celebration, post which she had stopped it! However, then came the night of Brickyard when it was brought back. She was caught on camera chugging a brew, and the crowd went into a frenzy. This included Larson, who took it to Twitter to flaunt her wife’s carefree nature. Here, take a look:

However, in a recent chat with NASCAR veteran Kenny Wallace, he asked her how she dealt with all the fans demanding her to constantly do it. To this, she said, “I would say no all night and explain to them if I said yes every time somebody came up, I wouldn’t be up here selling. I’d be drunk, I’d be a bad mom, I wouldn’t be able to function. But every once in a while I would see really intense fans. Some young guys or a group of girls, I’d be like you know what. Yes, do you have a beer for me? I’d walk outside and chug a beer, it was the greatest day for them. Like I said. Sometimes I needed it by the end of the night.”

This was, however, when she used to work full time at the souvenir trailer at the races. Being the sister of professional racer and Larson’s High Limit Racing Series partner Brad Sweet. She volunteered to help out on the track.  Now, with shifting more focus to her children, it’s no longer something she does or enjoys. She said, “But right now, this time of my life, I have taken a step back. I have had a third kid. I don’t work in the souvenir Haller anymore. And it just gets overwhelming. I’m already overwhelmed with life and when I have a lot of fans in my ear all the time, negativity. The negativity will always outweigh the positivity in my mind. But yeah I have just taken a break.”

Her motherhood has taken over her wild spirit. The pair had their first son, Owen, in 2014 while they were still dating.
