NASCAR has witnessed some iconic duos over the years. The champion duo of Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick is undoubtedly one of them. The pair first collaborated at Stewart-Haas Racing in 2014, when the #4 driver switched from Richard Childress Racing. The transition was seamless for Harvick, as he went on to win the Cup Series championship in his debut year with Tony’s team. Since then, they have not looked back and have been a consistent force to reckon with in the top flight.
One of the more underrated attributes of their friendship was the scope for humorous moments. Harvick has been known to be a comic presence on the team and has even tilted toward being the prankster of the group. As we celebrate the festival of Halloween, the former champion looks back at one of his most memorable outfits aimed at Tony, with a subtle joke at the root of it.

Halloween is usually a big celebration in the country. Outfits of supernatural beings, fictional characters, treats, and scary pumpkins are the most common themes for Halloween’s Eve. However, would the description of a race car driver with a touch of rowdiness fit the bill? Kevin Harvick indeed believed so.
In a recent social media post by SHR’s official handle, Harvick reminisces about an eventful day when he used his pillow to resemble the three-time Cup champion. The image shows Harvick in the iconic red jumpsuit of Stewart when he used to drive the #14 Chevy. Looking at the protrudin belly gimmick thanks to his pillow inside the suit, Harvick said,
“Well, this was a weight joke towards our friend Tony and his suit fit for Halloween. They would create the little outfits, and I went as Stewart with my pillow in my costume. I don’t know that I did it justice. It still isn’t tight enough.”

However, Harvick was not prepared for the consequences of his subtle dig. Tony Stewart surpassed even Harvick’s abilities as a prankster and came up with ideas that would put the 47-year-old in deep waters. Revealing Tony’s retaliation, Harvick added,
“He always just laughed. The problem with Tony is he never gets worked up about anything. Then, when you do something like this, all it does is antagonize him to do something worse. So, at some point, you have to stop cause he won’t. I’m sure I wound up with more wedgies and stuff in my cars. It was endless. It never ended.”
Looking at the chemistry between the two, there is no doubt about how they achieved so much together. The two drivers going against each other and topping each other’s mischief is always great to look back on.

Tony Stewart has been one of the most significant assets to the sport to date. Arriving in NASCAR with an IndyCar championship, he was already well-known and accomplished when he debuted. As he went on to win three more titles at stock-car racing’s highest level, he established himself as one of the sport’s greats. Even after he retired from driving full-time, he has invested in SHR and NHRA drag racing and even has his own series, the Camping World SRX Series, which attracts stars from the world of motorsports with every race.
However, apart from his achievements as a race car driver, he has also positively influenced his team and the community. Often participating in deep and lighthearted discussions alike, he turned out to be a complete package of entertainment. Kevin Harvick has previously commended Tony’s ability to maintain it when he said,
“Well, that’s just typical Tony. Always the entertainment, keeping things real and light.”

Harvick isn’t far behind, either. One of his earlier pranks also included putting Stewart under false alarm after moving his clock ahead by two hours. The duo has always provided the fans with content to laugh about.
“That’s pretty much how it goes. He always finds something entertaining, and I am the serious one. He used to always tell Eddie and I, he’s like, ‘You guys just go somewhere else; you guys go talk business somewhere else. I don’t want to be a part of it.’ He got tired of hearing what we were scheming up.” claimed Harvick.
