This past Sunday night was pay-day for Kyle Larson. Dominating any competition on the track in the NASCAR All-Star Race, Larson had an incredible weekend. Before the race’s midway break, Larson had a lead of more than 13 seconds, with only 12 vehicles still on the lead lap. The stat only goes on to show how dominant he was on Sunday.
The exuberant Hendrick Motorsports driver thoroughly enjoyed his win in North Carolina. With much to remember from the race, Larson shares some of his excitement with the fans on Instagram in a celebratory video. The video also brings back one of the most iconic moments in racing.

The win at North Wilkesboro means Larson pocketed $1 million with the winner’s purse. Having won All-Star races previously in Charlotte and Texas, he seems to be getting used to this euphoric feeling. In a recent post on Instagram, Larson shows us some moments from the post-race celebration. In a video that includes iconic celebrations from different fields, even Kyle’s wife Katelyn comes up with her trademark ‘Shotgun Sweetie‘ celebration.
Further in the video, we see some great work by Larson’s editing team as NASCAR and dirt track racing legend Scott Bloomquist’s memorable answer shows up. It takes us back to 2014 when Bloomquist, just like Larson, swept through the World 100 race at Eldora Speedway. The Team Zero Race Cars owner can be heard saying, “I would’ve lapped the field.“

As the 2002 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, Bloomquist has Racked up 4 championship trophies in Dirt Late Model racing. In addition, he has also tried his hand in the ARCA Menard and Camping World Truck Series as well.
Apart from the dirt racing legend, American Football quarter-back Johnny Manziel also appears in the video. Emulating Manziel’s memorable money-counting celebration, Larson seemed to signify that Sunday’s win secured him the bag. The nickname ‘Yung Money’ makes real sense now.

Despite complaints from drivers and experts about the inability of the Next-gen cars on shorter tracks, Larson’s performance is something remarkable. Following a gradual and methodical approach on a tricky circuit paid dividends for him. He had a perfect idea of how things went for him on Sunday. Speaking to Fox Sports, he summed up his enthusiasm as he said,
“So much fun there. That was old-school a** whipping for sure.”

He also slams the performance of other drivers on the circuit, saying, “I got out to a big lead and I could see everybody’s cars were driving like cr*p in front of me. We were God-awful all weekend. Practice I was like the worst on 30-lap average, went backwards in a heat race yesterday. You obviously had some strategy work out there in the beginning, but we drove from dead last to the lead and checked out by 12 or 13 seconds.”

Larson was definitely the star of All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro. As one of the best and most skilled drivers in NASCAR, it is only befitting of him to earn the crown as well as the lucrative prize money of a million dollars.
