The Truck Series race in Texas saw a rather chaotic end. Carson Hocevar picked up his first career win in the division after the race leaders were wrecked out. It was probably not how most drivers would want to get their first win, but that is what happened. Later on, the Door Bumper Clear podcast held a session with a former Kyle Busch Motorsports driver to discuss the chaotic win of Hocevar.

The driver even went on to explain how he would have driven in that situation.

Former Truck Series driver for Kyle Busch gives his take on Carson Hocevar’s win

During the conversation, Chandler Smith said, ” Looking back at them replay at Truck Racing at Texas you got a huge suck up down the front straightaway.”

“He seemed he had a ginormous run. Them two were s**kin each other back, stalling on each other out, right… But like he straight-up dumped him. I don’t know what to tell you.”

As per the DBC guys, Hocevar had apparently not lifted during the incident, instead he just plowed through. Right after, Smith explained what he would have done had he been in Hocevar’s place.

The former truck driver said, “So I would have lifted to about 80% throttle… You still are gonna keep up with your run… You would have pulled out and got both of em. Easy.”

As reported by si.com, during an interview, Hocevar told the media, “I didn’t mean to get into him, I just meant to give him a push and he got sideways the second I hit him, I apologize to them, I’ll take the fall for it, I wrecked a Chevy and I’ll go talk to him about it – he deserved to win for sure.”
