Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney stole the show by edging out a win and making it into the round of 8. However, it was not a good day for NBA legend Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan’s prodigy found himself dodging what could have been a very serious accident at the end of stage two. The person to blame for putting him in that situation is Joe Gibbs’ prodigy. Thankfully, no one got hurt, but things could have very easily gone sideways.
After the end of stage 2, all the drivers came into the pits for a change of tires and refueling. Refueling is not the easiest of tasks, as it requires speed and precision. Things have gone wrong across all types of motorsports with fueling, but the outcome is usually something catching fire.
That is exactly what happened with JGR racer Ty Gibbs. The driver of the No. 54 left his pit box with the fuel still stuck to his car. Halfway down the pit road, the can detached and caught fire, making for a scary scene. A lot of the drivers had to take evasive action, including Michael Jordan’s prodigy.
Tyler Reddick was one of the drivers who managed to steer clear of the flaming fuel can. Despite being far from the scene, the driver of the No. 45 said that he could still feel the heat. “I mean that was hot. I could feel the heat and I wasn’t very close to it,” he said on the team radio.

The driver of the No. 45 is below the cutline going into the final race in the round of 12. Although it is just by two points, there is a big chance that he will be eliminated at the Charlotte Roval this coming Sunday. Thankfully, road courses are his specialty, and that is exactly what the 27-year-old will get in a few days’ time.
