It was a tumultuous season for Legacy Motor Club. Although the team had shown early promises of success through the roster of drivers, it never made a breakthrough in the highly competitive arena. To add to the woes, their rookie driver, Noah Gragson, has been at the center of all the controversies that led to NASCAR and the team suspending the 25-year-old.
However, it seems the driver has learned his lesson and is ready to make amendments in his racing career. Emerging as a strong candidate as the replacement for Aric Almirola in Stewart-Haas Racing, Gragson is on the verge of re-entering the Cup Series in the 2024 season. Looking back at his adverse year, the driver finally broke his silence regarding his suspension and the learning curve.

As an Xfinity Series driver for JR Motorsports, Noah Gragson had portrayed his unfettering caliber as a NASCAR driver. In 2022, he not only qualified for the Championship 4 race, but was on the verge of winning the championship. However, he fell short of Ty Gibbs, who seized the championship trophy at the last moment.
Hoping to translate the same momentum, Gragson had forayed into the elite series of NASCAR, through Jimmie Johnson’s team Legacy Motor Club. But sadly, Gragson not only fell short of the expectations but also got tangled in a social media controversy. As a result, the driver was suspended by NASCAR and the Team, which eventually led to him parting ways with LMC.
However, it seems that the driver is ready for his comeback after undergoing the NASCAR-mandated sensitivity program. Speaking about the same, Gragson expressed to Matt Weaver of Sportsnaut, “I was quite frankly uneducated and just ignorant. I’ve had a lot of conversations with a lot of different people, put in a lot of time and effort to learn and understand things that I just didn’t know anything about.”
Putting the tough year behind him, the driver is now set to appear for the anticipated Snowball Derby alongside his fellow NASCAR drivers, William Byron, Ryan Preece, and Carson Hocevar.

Gragson asserted, “The RISE program, they really took me step-by-step and allowed me to ask questions about things that I didn’t understand. Five years from now, whenever from now, this will be one of the best things that has ever happened to me.’
“To be able to educate myself and learn, to become more open-minded, and I really was so closed-minded, selfish and didn’t really take time to understand what other people were going through or their situations.”

It is to be seen if Gragson once again enters the Cup Series arena. Will Stewart-Haas Racing be the next team that provides him the seat, or will he have to wait for another season?
