A confident Kyle Busch is a deadly driver—cold, ruthless, and dead-focused. Though the 2-time champ is known for his brash self and cocky attitude, his skills and racing prowess far exceed his reputation, and his 2023 season is a testament to that. Compared to an awful last season at Joe Gibbs Racing, his shift to Richard Childress Racing and Chevy has turned out extremely well for the “Rowdy,” securing a playoff berth with 3 wins and cruising steadily.

However, the #8 RCR driver looks like he might be slacking, taking the moderately banked speedway, and missing the driver meeting before his speedway run at Michigan.

Kyle Busch is one individual who never ceases to amaze the NASCAR nation, even while he’s having a rough season. While 2022 was nothing but a disaster for the 2-time champ, struggling with inconsistency, 2023 has been great for the “Rowdy.”

Shifting to Chevrolet has got the #8 back to form, and Richard Childress Racing has now got themselves a solid contender, something that they’ve been lacking. But, with all that being said, it looks like Busch might be slacking or underestimating MIS after hearing his pre-race comments. The driver missed the driver’s meeting at 10 a.m. simply because he was asleep. When asked about the upcoming road races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Watkins Glen, “bad boy” Busch exposed himself as he said, “So you know, Indy, I bet you I probably missed it in the drivers meeting here at 10 o’clock this morning. I was still sleeping, so trying to catch up from a long week.”

With the Cup Series action heading to the 2-mile moderately banked high-speed Speedway, NASCAR nation is awaiting an epic showdown as the field is certain to go full out on the track, considering the unique nature of the track. Busch, who’s 5th in the standings, has qualified to start 8th on Sunday, just behind his KBM prodigy and Hendrick Motorsports sensation, William Byron.

While the driver missed the meeting, there’s a lot more going for the driver than the Cup Series schedule.

It certainly was a tight and jam-packed schedule for the 2015, 2019 title holders. Busch made his SRX debut last week at Pulaski Country Track, claiming his first win in Tony Stewart‘s promotion in his debut race. Fast forward to this week, and Kyle Busch continued his dominance, winning it a second consecutive time, this time at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.

While the rain looked like it was about to ruin the day for fans, things turned out well as the 100-lap short track race got underway after a brief delay. RFK Racing co-owner and NASCAR veteran Brad Keselowski put on a valiant effort, making the “Rowdy” sweat. But neither the veteran nor the early caution could halt Busch’s advance as he steamrolled his way into another victory.

Though the driver revealed his honest self, saying he was busy sleeping, in no way can one say he was slacking or lacked commitment as he was savoring his second win in the rising promotion? Will he repeat the same at Michigan? That’s a whole other conversation, but let us hope for the best.
