Hailie Deegan recently became one of the most talked-about names in the NASCAR world when she made a move to Ohio for the upcoming 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. She joined ThorSport Racing for the 2023 season, driving for the #13 Ford team. However, it seems that the move came with a big surprise for Deegan.
She shared a story on Instagram recently, in which she said that she was hit by a snowstorm when she was leaving the race shop in Ohio. She admitted, “Oh my gosh! I was not prepared for this. It’s a little cold out, Oh my gosh!” It seems that despite her experience racing in different parts of the country, she wasn’t ready for the harsh Ohio winters.
But the weather is just one of the challenges that Deegan has had to face since making her move to ThorSport Racing. In the season-opener at the Daytona International Speedway, she was involved in a crash and did not finish the race. Then, in the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Deegan lost control and careened into John Hunter Nemechek, causing enough damage to end both their nights.

Unfortunately, Deegan’s luck didn’t last long, and she found herself in trouble again during Stage 2 of the race. While the start of the season hasn’t gone as planned for Deegan, she remains determined to bounce back and make a name for herself in the NASCAR world. Be it the challenging weather or a challenging race, Deegan remains focused on her goals.
