It’s every NASCAR Camping Series driver’s dream to go race the big leagues in the Cup Series cars. However, drivers need to progress through the levels and compete in the Xfinity series after racing in trucks. Moreover, every trucking series driver wishes for their big break into the world of Xfinity. And David Gilliland Racing driver, Hailie Deegan is no different.
Deegan had hoped to compete in select races in the Xfinity series in 2022. However, a recent revelation shows that competing in the Xfinity cars seems unlikely.
Of course, the most important thing in Motorsports is funding. Drivers require sponsors and someone to put money into a driver to make sure their cars can appear in every race.

Unfortunately, Hailie Deegan seems to struggle with exactly that. In a recent interview, the driver doesn’t seem too confident about what the future will hold for her. She said, “It’s tough trying to get funding midway through the season. Or, trying to figure things out for potential end of the year deals, for at least me in these situations.”

Although, Deegan is trying her best as she said, “We’re working on it, trying to do what we can.” However, there is not much for her to vouch on, “There’s nothing we have set in stone at all right now. It’s all just kind of seeing what we could possibly do in the future.”
Naturally, she wants an answer as she added, “I wish I had answers since I want answers myself, but nothing set yet.”

She said, “My dad was actually with Ford back in the day for multiple years. I already knew everyone at Ford, he had relationships with those people. They saw me at a low age, running around. It was honestly kind of a no-brainer for me. I feel like I already knew everyone over there.”
However, she revealed that the main reason for leaving Toyota to join Ford was, unkept promises. Deegan said, “I also feel like, at Toyota. I never really talked about this much, because it doesn’t get asked much. I was promised a lot of things that weren’t kept. “ She added, “And I kind of laid on those promises. Expecting them because it was, ‘Oh if you do this then. we’ll make sure you’re doing this next ‘. I was promised so much and didn’t receive. “
