For the past few months, one of the stories dominating proceedings is Elon Musk buying Twitter. Admittedly, this has led to a fair bit of backlash from the community. Especially since he introduced a whole load of changes with the grace of a person wielding a chainsaw. Recently, former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace opened up about the social media platform.

He wrote on Twitter, I’ve been on Twitter a long time. I am a original. Twitter was originally designed for entertainment and discussion and what’s up. Over the last 4-5 years twitter has turned into a business platform for major politicians and journalists. It’s now too serious.”

What else did the ex-NASCAR driver say about Elon Musk and Twitter?

He also found some of the businessman’s Twitter antics absolutely hilarious. Meanwhile, a fair number of fans agreed with Wallace’s assessment of Twitter. Some people said that they generally use the platform to keep up with news about NASCAR and sprint car racing. Others admitted that they liked the freedom to choose whom to follow and keep up with the racing community. They agreed that politics has become more and more prevalent, but there is an option to tailor the feed.

Admittedly, there were some people who pretty much begged Kenny Wallace not to leave Twitter. This was because they enjoyed his tweets and would be sad if he left. One person even replied to the tweet, “I’m a Twitter original too, Kenny. Since 2008! Personally, I feel like Twitter is still a good place to connect with people, especially with those we otherwise probably would never be able to connect with. I also like to share my media here.”

Now, Wallace has complete faith in Elon Musk to transform Twitter. Admittedly, whether the changes will be good or bad is still up in the air. As for Wallace himself, he is relatively well-known in the NASCAR community. Although he has never won a Cup race, he does boast of nine Xfinity Series wins. The 59-year-old has also finished in the Top 10 on 173 occasions in the Xfinity Series. His career spanned 26 years, from 1988 all the way until 2015.
