Wrecks and crashes are an integral part of a sport. No matter how much someone dislikes it, they are bound to happen. One can only figure out ways to save themselves from such happenings because misfortunes are in no one’s control. Some players show utmost bravery by admitting to their guilt, which would’ve given them an advantage over their opponents. However, the case of Denny Hamlin reads out an entirely different narrative.
Instead of getting support from the audience, he faced a massive backlash after he admitted to wrecking his rival, Ross Chastain. In his podcast, Hamlin opened up about not advocating the situation further regarding his penalty as he learned a lesson from his previous confession.

In the previous episode of his Actions Detrimental podcast, Denny admitted that he intentionally wrecked Ross Chastain at the Phoenix Raceway. He believed in giving the same fate to Chastain that he was about to face, losing the race.
However, things have changed as per the latest podcast episode. Hamlin chose not to advocate his penalty situation on a podcast to avoid giving NASCAR time to prepare for the appeal.
Hamlin is to appeal to NASCAR about his recent punishment and wishes to keep the case quiet. Denny does not want to reveal any information on a public platform because that could work against him.
He said, “I think it’s smarter if I just kinda keep my opinions and my facts in my pocket.”
However, he made sure to inform his fans that he will discuss it, once the air is clear.
He said, “we’re not gonna get into it today, We will, when this appeal is over.” The JGR driver is firm on his decision to not disclose any information regarding his appeal on the penalty after he faced dire consequences post-admittance of his wreckage.
Why did Hamlin confess to the Ross Chastain-Phoenix kerfuffle in the first place?
