Earlier this year, Dale Earnhardt Jr was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame. To celebrate the occasion, Good Humor Ice Cream decided to give him a gift. After he recorded an episode of the Dale Jr Download on March 1, a Good Humor truck was delivered as a surprise. In all honesty, the former NASCAR driver deserves it for everything he has done for the sport. He may not have won a Cup Series title, but he established a strong legacy and has pretty much been the face of NASCAR for a good part over the last two decades.

The truck itself was an old-time race truck, decked in the Good Humor colors. Although the driver was thrilled, later on, he had a small confession to make. He wrote on Twitter, “I promptly got in and broke the drivers side interior door handle clean off the door panel because I obviously don’t know my own strength“.

What did Dale Earnhardt Jr find out about the truck?
The truck’s delivery was courtesy of Unilever, to congratulate him on his induction. Interestingly, this very truck was brought in to be revamped and it originally had a yellow paint job. Very soon, this truck was completely remodeled and looked almost unrecognizable. Of course, the driver will not be able to race the car, but it will still look quite pretty as a showpiece,

As for its specs, it had brand new tires and boasted power steering. The interiors were also spruced up and had a custom shell. Soon, Dale Earnhardt Jr had the car keys in his hands and took the car for a spin. Sadly, that awkward little incident took place and the door handle broke off. Hopefully, for Dale Jr’s sake, he managed to get it fixed. Otherwise, he would have had a heck of a time explaining that one to Unilever and Good Humor.
