Ever since the 4 man duo of Dale Earnhardt Jr, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, and Justin Marks took over the CARS Tour Late-Model series earlier this year in January, the promotion has steadily climbed the ranks, becoming a beacon of hope for short-track racing fans. The new ownership group put their efforts into promotion, getting the name out to the community while incorporating a revised streaming platform for the masses.

The result was a striking success that got the promotion a new entitlement sponsor for its 2024 campaign, and beyond that. While things seem to be looking good for the series, having four owners can be a cumbersome task sometimes. It is pretty common for a disagreement to follow because one cannot expect four people to be on the same page all the time. Recently, co-owner Jeff Burton also opened up about what it is like to work with the group.

Well, first let us address the elephant in the room. That isn’t simply the case at CARS Tour. In fact, the series went from being confined to just the Southeast to gaining nationwide acclaim ever since the ownership changed hands. While the events are pretty much confined to the southern part of the country, fans can now access all 19 events from all corners of the nation, thanks to the live-streaming endeavor by Floracing.

During the official announcement of its new title partner, the owners also revealed that they will continue to be tied with the streaming partner for the upcoming season. NASCAR Nation also got a take from Burton who was asked, “What’s been your favorite part about the new ownership group with this series?

To this, the veteran replied, “The conversation, the challenge, I love that. I love being challenged. I love a good debate and just all the different perspectives, you know, we all come at it from different points of view.” Furthermore, he added to his take, mentioning his familiarity with the ownership group after having worked with Harvick and Junior in RCR and NBC. He also revealed what it’s like having Trackhouse Racing co-owner Justin Marks on board as a member that he wasn’t acquainted with in the past.

He said, “I worked with Kevin(Harvick) when we were at RCR so I knew how he was. I worked with Junior at NBC, I knew how he was. I didn’t know Justin(Marks). Having him come on board is just..he thinks completely about things that I would never think and I think that’s really really smart for us to have a guy like him. So, it’s just that the conversation, the debate, the discussions, that’s been really enjoyable.”

If there’s one area that NASCAR has lost out on and CARS Tours has gained on, it is short-track racing. The organization’s biggest and most exciting product has now become its biggest headache considering its struggles of incorporating the Next-Gen platform into the format. This has left the fandom aching for an exhilarating action-packed short-track race.

And that is where the CARS Tour comes in. Unlike NASCAR, which has its eyes set on young viewers, Dale Jr and Co’s promotion has emphasized rejuvenating the quick and thrilling package, giving it back to the fans. Speaking to a Frontstretch reporter, Burton detailed the importance of working with NASCAR to plan the events such that the fans are the ultimate winners.

He said, “Oh, it’s huge. NASCAR’s been a great partner with the CARS Tour. They’ve been great to work with and we all want to build grassroots racing. We want to be able to have a race people come from the big track to see our guys compete. We want them, we want them to do both, we don’t them to do either..I mean we have a lot of guys that express interest in running these and we want that, we want some of the guys to come in and race because you know Kyle Larson, he came around to race with us and it was great information that he gave us back.
