Joey Logano‘s long career in NASCAR has seen him earn numerous titles and awards, from Daytona 500 champion to a devoted husband and father. Yet, Logano is trying to embrace a new role which is to learn how to drive a truck. Logano has recently taken up his aim to learn how to drive a truck. For someone who is accustomed to the precision and speed of race cars, attempting to drive a truck has proven to be a humbling experience.

Speaking to Sirius XM NASCAR Radio, Logano shared that he has recently taken up to learn to drive trucks. But for him, who is a professional racer and is used to facing new challenges on track every day, he was not expecting to face a challenge while learning to obtain his truck driver’s license.

“You got to do like the obstacle course, okay, and they brought me to this area, the cone set up, you know, that’s not my thing, is what I learned. I’m good to straight back, I’m good to you know you got to change from one like loading dock to the other, I could do that.” he said.

Logano vividly remembers the frustrations he encountered while attempting to clear the obstacle course. He found himself backed up with a challenge and hitting orange cones while navigating through the course, he said, “The 90 degree turn that you got to back up, they do not give you much room to do this. Like I’m looking to arc it out and I am just killing cones. I killed so many orange cones this day and I’m pretty sure the front tires were wore off this thing, the steering box, it had to been killed. I spent hours in this stupid parking lot, in this stupid truck, pissed off, trying to back this damn thing up”

Despite his frustration, Logano is fully optimistic and determined to obtain his trucker licence and master this new craft.

Joey Logano might be a big name in NASCAR now but his main reason to become a professional stock car racer is his dad, Tom Logano. Tom sold his own company to fund his son’s junior career which has led him to be the man he is now. Apart from that, Logano’s dad is also a classic auto collector and likes to collect vintage automobiles, from cars to trucks, Tom Logano has been collecting all for a very long time. This is probably the reason why Logano decided to acquire his truck license now.

Logano revealed that his dad collects a few antique trucks and he has always loved driving them around. When he finally decided that he wanted to drive them around on the road, he decided to get his truck licence, “Well, so my dad’s got a few antique trucks and I love driving them and I thought you know what I probably should do this legally and so um I’ve gone to school now and been doing everything there so I’m taking my test here in a couple weeks so I’m kind of excited about doing that. good trucker.” he stated.

Logano revealed that he is set to take his driver’s test soon and then he will be able to drive around the truck around.
