The Berlin Raceway witnessed some extravagant racing action during the Superstar Racing Experience event last Thursday. Despite the race being affected by the weather, Kyle Busch was able to maintain his 100% win record in SRX Racing Series (2 wins in 2 starts).

It was a good day for Hailie Deegan as well, despite facing some issues right before the race, as she finished in the fifth position. Deegan, who started the race in 10th position, fought her way through the field and ended up recovering five places in the race.

However, during the practice session, she expressed her discomfort with the car.

“I was headed towards the wall”: Hailie Deegan expresses her concern

Hailie Deegan’s experience driving the SRX cars the first time around the Berlin Raceway wasn’t great at all. Despite her race being really good, Deegan was experiencing some issues during the practice session. After finishing the practice session, Deegan explained that she wasn’t able to keep the car in control.

However, she later clarified that she was just tired. Considering the amount of racing Deegan is doing, it is obvious that it will take a toll on her. She race in the Truck Series race at Richmond on July 30th and then she had to make it to Michigan for SRX on the 4th of August. Such a hefty timetable can leave a toll on any driver.

In her latest YouTube vlog, Deegan can be seen getting out of the SRX car a little flustered. In the video she says, “Once I got off the bottom a little bit, I held my exit. But I felt like, I could go harder but I just felt tired.”

Deegan even explained how she almost got into the wall. She said, “I got on the gas. And I am just headed straight towards the wall just waiting for the car to turn. It never does. Weird track, Really Weird track.”

Former NASCAR and IndyCar driver and Sky Sports F1 pundit Danica Patrick said that Hailie Deegan could be a contender for a seat in F1. In a recent interview with Sky Sports, Patrick named Deegan to be one of the talents who has the potential to drive at the pinnacle of motorsports.

We all know the performances Deegan has been showing recently. The 22-year-old has been showing her talent everywhere she races. Although it might be pretty hard to imagine Deegan reaching an F1 seat. However, if one of the most successful female drivers in history believes she could, we never know.

Apart from her, Patrick also named only W-series champion Jamie Chadwick who is currently associated with Williams Racing. Chadwick looks to be much closer to an F1 seat considering her position. However, we never know what the future holds.
