Imagine having one of the best seasons of your career, and still not being able to make it to the next round. That’s what NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney is going through.
With time running out, the Team Penske driver is in desperate need of a win to progress to the playoffs.
So his reaction to being wrecked late in the race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway by nice guy Daniel Suarez, is somewhat justified. Because Blaney wasn’t just mad, he was bitter, and he was furious.

“It’s a case of just getting wrecked,” he said in a post-race interview. “That’s all people do at the end of these things, just dive in there and wreck you. We restarted top three both times and tires don’t really matter. It’s just a matter of getting through on the restart, but, apparently, that’s a hard thing to ask.”
“People just run over each other.”
Ryan Blaney was fuming after the race after being spun. Said it wasn't the tires: “That was a case of just getting wrecked, that’s all people do at the end of these things. Just dive in there and f**king wreck you. And I don’t know who shoved who. I don’t care."

Ryan Blaney feels he has every right to be mad at Daniel Suarez
Ryan Blaney described how he was protecting the right side, and “whoever” was behind him didn’t care. The #12 driver complained that he didn’t even have “a shot at” having a go at race winner Tyler Reddick during the final moments of the race.
“I didn’t have a shot to get to the 8 to try to put the bumper to him or anything like that, just get wiped out,” he added.

“I’m pissed off about it and I have every damn right to be.”
The result of IMS leaves Ryan Blaney in a pretty tricky, hard-to-swallow situation in having a season full of decent results, but not having a shot at the playoffs because of the format.
